First time in but wont be the last young girl behind tha bar a credit to thd company, smiley and friendly .the food was good big portion ,the decor and feel of the place is very nice,would recomend a visit,plus good prices

We celebrated my Mum's birthday here in early September 2024. We hadn't been before but the Smoker was recommended to me by a friend. It was a quiet night so not alot of people in the pub. The pub has dog friendly areas so we took our dog. :-) All our wait staff were lovely and welcoming but a special thank you goes to our main waitress with a fondness for dogs (you know who you are!). The service was exceptional, way above average. Everyone thought their food was delicious. As a vegetarian I was spoilt for choice and I absolutely loved the beer battered haloumi it was just divine, melt in the mouth spectacular! Thank you very much for a wonderful evening. We will return for sure.

This venue is lovely. Shame it was so quiet but then the plus is Guaranteed a seat. I had the fish, it was huge. One star less as I would like fresh/real, not what seemed like frozen cooked chips and some homemade tartar sauce to give it a full 5 star rating.

Sandwiches were discussting, chunky egg just like yellow slop . Service appalling slow rude . When made a complaint upon leaving basically just ignored . Will not visit again .

Visited here by chance with some friends. Nice upmarket feel pub, great beer garden with grass and play area for kids. Food was overall ok, service was a bit slow.

Visited the pub on a quiet Saturday afternoon just 2 tables while we weee having lunch. Must say the food was excellent and great value for money and the atmosphere was great
Service however was a let down , order was taken in good time, however expect to be asked if the food was ok or if we needed another round of drinks especially when you nearly spend 75 pounds for 4 2 adults and 2 kids.
One of the lady staff members behind the bar clearly not wanting to be there and wouldn’t even smile when came to serve any of our drinks and food
I wouldn’t be rushing back as many better places around the area

First time I have been here in over 20 years and went for lunch with my Mum. Some really nice food very well done and the interior has been done up superbly , a nice relaxing feel to the place

Don't go on a Wednesday. A friend of mine said that it's possible that the real chef isn't on during the week as it's too expensive.
I had creamy mash which was dry and lumpy and quite the opposite of creamy and my food was served on a cold plate.
The waitress service was extremely good and friendly except for one waitress who pushed me on why I only thought the food was okay.
I explained about the mash and the cold plate to which there was no apology just silence.
Feedback obviously got back to the kitchen because I could hear what must have been the chef taking umbrage. Even though prior to this I couldn't make out what anyone was saying in me kitchen. It was just background noise.
Not a good experience and interestingly, me and my friend were the only ones eating in the whole building at the time. Everyone else was simply drinking and texting each other across the table.
My friend had gammon which she absolutely adored but can't remember whether she had a hot plate or not.
I hate doing this, but one of the worst places we've been to in a long time. The service was very slow, and she was not very nice. The food was ok. I had the nicoise salad , but some had sandwiches which they said were very dry. The server forgot to bring the sauce for the ceasar salad! When we asked for dessert menus we were told we'd need o be quick as they were about to close. Location for us was good, but that's all I can say positively.
