A charming cafe on the first floor above a bakery. The menu is very reasonably priced and the portion size is great. There is a very good choice of food and lots of amazing cakes. I had a jacket potato with cheese and beans for lunch and that kept me filled up for the rest of the day. I wish I had gone for something smaller as the Knickerbocker glory looked fantastic. You can also have a high tea here, which at £15, looked great value. The staff are also friendly and attentive. I will definitely be going back in the next couple of weeks.

Lovely place for a pasty/sausage roll and a slice of cake, also do meal deals and the most friendly helpful staff, highly recommend

We ordered food for 6 of us including my daughter who has allergies. Firstly, we were greeted by a friendly lady who quickly found us a table. They were thorough in making sure my daughter had something safe to eat. The food come out quickly and it was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were so helpful and friendly. I can't fault my experience and I highly recommend.

Vegetarian options: More than enough options

Dietary restrictions: Very thorough in checking for suitable food.

Had a nice hot cornish pasty from here. Best ive ever tasted. On a cool day it warmed up my hands!

Really bad service. We were waited on by a blond girl who basically avoided eye contact with us multiple times in order to avoid taking our order and did not attend to us at all. It was not busy but she felt that we were not a priority. She also was not paying attention at all when she took our order and several things were missing when the order arrived. It was a frustrating situation. Especially since we were extremely polite and the place wasnt busy. No excuse.

Always come into Pauline's when I'm visiting my parents. Both me and my children love Pauline's, by far the best cake shop in town and often eat upstairs too the food is 10 out of 10 will not go anywhere else. Although get upset when it's not open at Christmas ?

Ever since I was a kid my mom and dad would buy me and my brothers a slice of chocolate fudge cake from Pauline's before we went home from our holiday. I still get one now and it's still PERFECT after all these years!

We have had many sandwiches and cakes over the years to takeaway, decided to eat in tearoom today, my Husband and I had the afternoon tess, £15.00 each well worth the money, would happily have paid more, great food, all fresh and made to order, 10 year Daughter had jacket potato with cheese and beans and again was well worth the money, will definately be visitng the tearooms again, great food, great staff and great prices.

Great place to stop and pick up food to takeaway. Good choice of sandwiches/baguettes along with decent selection of different cakes. Recommended for buying food for a picnic on the beach.

Love this place, with the nicest cakes. We had great service even when busy. Proper Cornish

Unfortunately we were pretty disappointed by our experience at Pauline’s. We were here on a Sunday in the off season so willing to cut them some slack. The tea room was closed which was a bit of a heartbreak for us since online we thought it was open but won’t let that influence our rating of the place. The scones and cream tea was pretty good but we learned that the scones had been baked the day before and they weren’t as fresh as we had hoped for (we would give them a 3 out of 5). The chocolate fudge cake was old, dry and very disappointing (1 out of 5). I would guess it’s at least a couple days old. Wish we had a better experience here but we do understand that things could affect the quality during the off season. Cheers!Parking: Parking was not easy to spot and we ended up need to pay for parking just to get to the place.

Absolutely horrific. Awful food. Shocking service. Up there with one of the most depressing dining experiences of my life. Avoid!
