Been here a lot over the years and still.find it great for drinks, coffees looking over the beach at the quiet end of town.
It's got a great art deco building and terraces, with a shabby chic vibe.
However, the food is poor and not worth the money they are charging
Full English breakfast was decent, but the eggs benedict consisted of cheap ham, cold sauce with overcooked poached eggs. At £12 a shot!
Other brunch items were also only 2/3 stars out of 5 by those who had them.
By comparison, Cote does perfect eggs benedict, Royale, Florentine for £10-11...
So, great spot for drinks, but the food needs to improve dramatically for us to eat there again.
Disgusting, please don't support this place!
I love what you’ve done to this place. So lovely, and the puppy there OMG cute ??
Three stars for good coffee and great sea view.
BUT, I will not be returning:
The cafe has a tired and grungy vibe. It could do with a deep deep clean
The toilet opens directly into the cafe, so one can sit on the sofa and watch people entering and leaving the toilet with all the concomitant smells. Not great!!
AND forget hygiene. Dogs on the sofa, dogs next to tables, dogs outside. Not a great place for people who don't want to share their eating place with a dog/dogs
The service was extremely slow and coffee was finished before meals arrived.
Lovely views, friendly atmosphere, great food and coffee.
What isn’t there to recommend about WHITECLIFFS! A fantastic welcome, friendly staff, great food (never had anything bad here). Superb cake and croissants. A great view. Regular entertainment (day and night). Jules and the team are working hard to address the sometimes negative comments - they’ve even asked for improvement tips as they know they don’t always get it right! Yes, the furniture outside isn’t fit ‘for the ivy’, but it’s functional and open to the elements. So after a beach front walk, with a wet dog, a comfy sofa under cover is very appreciated - the dogs and I don’t care what it looks like! Go inside to see their lovely new tables! Dogs are welcome indoors too, with plenty of ‘treats’ available! The owners have kept, and are doing their upmost to restore the buildings original art deco features, but that takes time. Give it a go; breakfast, brunch, Sunday lunch. It’s a lovely place to hang out with a great view :-)
We absolutely love everything about Whitecliffs, Julienne’s amazing artwork & decor, friendly atmosphere, great staff, fabulous food & events aswell as the best sea view in the City… many happy memories are made here, love Nicky & Familyxx
Lovely cafe with beautiful views of the sea and beach.
I come here with my dog.
Very nice coffee.
What more could you want - extremely friendly and welcoming staff. Match that with some relaxing music and lovely food. I was recommended the chicken curry and it was as described - exquisite, and a big portion. Well done Whiteiffs.

Hi, when I went for coffee it was a very quiet day in Saltdean, but I had a latte and it was very nice and the views are amazing ???
Nice cafe with great views.
Bad service ? and no parking
Lovely place for a coffee and cake and watch the ocean
Went here with family visiting and although the setting was different it was shared space with cafe visitors sitting right by us with young kids. Price for what we had was high and the baby potatoes instead of roast is a definite NO NO. Wine very expensive and for the price expected not to have family's having coffee and cake sitting on top of us. Table setting and view lovely but wouldn't go again for Roast.
