The Halfway House

Stopped on the way home from holiday . What a find ! The service by the waitress was exceptional. She was helpful , cheerful and could not do enough for us . The food was excellent . Definitely will be returning . A lovely lovely place to eat and drink

Just came to the halfway house for the first time for an afternoon meal and it was one of the best pub dinners ive had for a while. The vegetable lasagna was amazing! Great service from Mel and Ally. I will definitely be back!

Absolutely INCREDIBLE food! Wow! Some of the best food I’ve had in my life. Everyone is so friendly especially Mel and Ally. Super lovely to my dog too. Will definitely be returning often

Great food, great welcome

We love this pub, the team are always friendly & welcoming. The food is excellent, I would highly recommend a Sunday Roast which comes with lots of vegetables, excellent gravy & very generous portions. The pub is warm & welcoming with a lovely large garden at the back which is gorgeous in the summer time.

I was recommended this pub whilst looking for somewhere to take my Dad for tapas. The pub itself is a gorgeous, cosy, traditional pub with so much warmth and character. We ordered a selection of tapas on a Saturday evening and the food far exceeded my expectations. So much flavour packed into these small plates. The patatas bravas and meatballs were a real highlight. I’d happily visit again. A real gem in the area ?

What a charming little old pub with low oak beams.
The food was incredibly good, my wife had scampi, chips and peas and I had the sosages with onion and mash potato.

If you are looking for a very old English country pub that serves good food then you should give this place a try, you will not be disappointed.

Such a lovely pub regardless of time of year. Cosy in winter and a lovely dog friendly garden in summer. Food is good too.

Went here as a group for a meeting, felt welcome and has a lovely atmosphere.

The last time I went in The Halfway House was 60yrs ago when I was 20, it has changed alot for the better. Very cozy, service was excellent, didn't have time to sample the cuisine, but I shall certainly go back.
