The food and drink were first rate as was the service and extended to posting my mislaid hat to my home address, miles away, in response to a telephone call. Very much appreciated and a model of how to deal with people. There will definitely be a return visit on my next visit to Lewes.

Great cakes and decent coffee. A popular spot which is usually very busy. Service friendly but can be a little slow. Their sourdough loaves looked wonderful.

Style over substance. Coffee is reasonable but slow. Almond croissant and egg muffin were stale.

Stopped for coffee & cake. Delicious on all levels. Came away with an enormous sourdough loaf of which half is in the freezer. A true artisan bakery/cafe. There is so much on offer in this relatively small place, I wish I had the capacity to try more varieties. However, I live fairly local so I will be back! ?

I don’t normally write reviews but the sandwich I bought here today actually had mouldy green patches on the ham! Rank.. not fit for human consumption also bread was old. I had driven home before trying it and do unfortunately could not go back to complain.. it’s very poor to have food not fit for consumption in any cafe let alone a high end one! Absolutely rotten meat! Please don’t eat there you will be poisoned. Will be reporting it.

Enjoyed a selection of three salads in the Brighton café (plus a second stop off for a chocolate brownie in the afternoon!) and coffees. We had cappuccinos + almond croissants in the Lewes café and French stick from both cafés to take out. All delicious. Lovely staff. Wish I'd have asked for the salad recipes!

We have had lovely lunches here, and bought some really tasty bread to take away with us. Staff were happy to share with us the recipe for the salad that we thought was delicious.

On the face of it this looked to be a sound choice. The food was excellent and the indoor and courtyard spaces were lovely. However these positive attributes paled into insignificance due to the incompetent handling of a customer service issue . One member of staff was beyond reproach and no one appeared to be in-charge to resolve the problem satisfactorily. If you are seeking out quality, welcoming artisan cafes I would give this one a wide berth.

Great location, lovely selection of treats, one very tasty chocolate croissant!

Nice place both inside and outside, though always a good spot in either season, with a good range of stuff to have a a snack time or full meal of some sort.Good spot halfway up the hill and near to some bus stop and other shop locations on the same street. Would come again at some point in the future.

Beautiful coffee shop, very nice pastries and good coffee. They have charming garden, perfect for summer morning tea/coffee break

First of all, friendly staff great interaction and brilliant vibes the moment I walked into the bakery, secondly their products are, well I can’t describe them to their full capacity, the sausage rolls was outstanding in looks and taste. Next time I visit Lewes this will be one of my first stops! Well done all.

Same as a lot of lower reviews on this place - food/bakery is very good but the staff bring the whole thing down a few stars. Generally unfriendly and not that welcoming at all. Muffin I had was very tasty but the espresso was poor.

Gorgeous little bakery with fantastic food and drinks. Had the cinnamon bun which is like a twist on a cinnamon bunny crossed with babka absolutely delicious

Cakes and coffee are top drawer. Having to queue to order every time i want something is the only downside...
