Staff very friendly, food was delicious lots of choice on menu. Can’t wait to go back
Staff were welcoming and helpful food was ok for price
Friendly staff. Gluten free food served as well as other dietary listings. Recommend here
Initially we were a little concerned as we’d booked a table for 6 and went to the dog friendly side only to be greeted by a large group of musicians, singing and playing on most of the tables. However, as soon as I spoke to a staff member, we were moved to the quieter side so were more than happy.
Re the food: My Grandaughter said the chips were ‘banging’ ? her boyfriend said the hotdog was ‘delightful’. Hubby said that the steak was cooked perfectly and enjoyed all of the meal as did the other members of the group. My only disappointment was the pie, which was very dried out and not great tbh. Having said that, the dog rather enjoyed it ?
The service was very good and we had a lovely family meal. Will definitely visit again.
Used a 40% off voucher which reduced the price of mains but quality of food was not great - prawn in Prawn Cocktail were tough and obviously a bit old and steak was over cooked and also tough
The service was slow. The food was edible but barely and was cold. We had 3 mixed grills, all with the same cooking requests for the steak, but all 3 meals were different. One meal had mat which wasn’t even cooked. Very poor.
Food took nearly an hour for food to arrive.
Amazing location, gorgeous garden and pub! Staff was extremely friendly. Food was ok.

Second time coming and all I can say is *mwah*chefs kiss! Lovely FOH staff and the carvery....no messing about the meat is cooked to perfection. Paul Taylor and his team knows how to cook and set up a carvery. I'm excited to see what it's like around Christmas time
Used this place many times over the years but not so in the last few. Visited on the afternoon of the 9th Aug 2025. Was disappointed to experience poor food. Both of us had the Prawn Cocktail starter which amounted to some warm shredded lettuce, with some warm prawns in a seafood sauce served with a roll and rock-hard butter. That was it, no lemon slice, maybe some tomato. Just a warm pink & green thing in a glass dish. The main course was better, mixed grill and my partner had some steak dish, adequate but nothing to write a rave review about. Ok, on the plus side, place was clean, staff attentive and we didn't have to wait long. Sorry but you were a long way short up to what I have previously experienced.
Staff were friendly, the menu had lots of great options.
Visited the area and camped on the farm next door - had dinner at the Holly Blue on the Saturday night after doing the Seven Sisters hike (at inside). We also had a roast dinner for the Sunday lunch which was lovely sitting in the patio area (food was far better than a Toby).
Dog friendly premises which you don't see often nowadays and makes a big difference for us when we go away with our Chow Chow.
Have been visiting for years. Carvery always been good. Today, we went for a meal from the menu. Absolutely awful! Food arrived within minutes….so called steak and a puff pastry pie. Steak chewy, couldn’t cut through the tough puff pastry…peas were like bullets and mash was hard….all microwaved no doubt. People next to us complained also…they got part of a refund and told they had a new chef….we got nothing but ‘our pies are bought in from a supplier’, will not be going back anytime soon!
Great food at a great price. It’s always a bit of a gamble with a carvery but that was spot on. Meat superb,, veg cooked to perfection and plenty of it too.
