I visited this restaurant as a casual pop in walking up to the train station, I was pleasantly surprised by a family run business. Which I found amazing as it’s not too common in london! The food was good and the facilities are clean. I live not too far away in Streatham and will definitely be visiting again! Thank you for being so welcoming, thoroughly enjoyed my time.
Best portuguese grilled chicken in London with reasonable price. The owner is also polite and helpful.
Love the food amazing service and lovely people
We tried to have a lunch in this restaurant but, we didn’t feel welcome by the door when we arrived.
The restaurant was empty, probably we was the first customers. It was a lady seating having a fruits and a chef by the kitchen,
Anyway she didn’t even say hello to us , actually I was asking if we could have a table she made a face to me and say ok but she never show us the table , looks like she didn’t want to have a customers at all., by the way I asked where can l leave the pram , she just pointed out the place , not very happy at all so in that case we decided to leave!
I can imagine how the service will be after this reception ?
This is a brilliant spot. The service was friendly and quick, and the atmosphere was comfortable and easy-going. The food was fantastic. I ordered the calamari and the mixed meat grill. The calamari was so light and fresh. The main was a huge portion, and it was cooked perfectly: the meat cuts were seasoned just right and were so juicy. I think they really care about giving you great service and excellent food here. 100% recommend.
Love this place popped in as the dog was going ti the vet and we were early so had coffee went back after the vets and it was lovely
Kid-friendliness: They do lovely portions for the kids
Excellent authentic Portuguese food, family run, we went back a few times it was so good.
Muito Gusto.
Nice price and generous quantity
At Grill in the Hill, you will find a family-run restaurant with a great selection of Portuguese dishes: excellent service and reasonable prices for this London area. Peri peri chicken is not as bad as Nando's super dry chicken, but not so flavourful as the sumptuous charcoaled chicken at Casa Do Frango. Fries are hand-cut, which is always a sign of homemade quality food. House red wines are exceptional, as expected. The only disappointment came from frozen sardines; I expected to have them properly fresh, so I rated them four stars.
Amazing food and service always super fresh and value for money. Love coming here and will continue to do so.

Fantastic lunch, fresh tasty, generous.A real find, walked past so many times but so glad I went in. Will be back
Editing my review as opposed to the below.I came back for another go and the food was absolutely amazing. ? Apologies for the below review. I returned for the mixed grill and added an egg and an sausage. Very good. I'm stuffed and thank you very much. Lovely ?....Food was ok. I wasn't blown away if I'm honest. I had the mixed grill. It was under seasoned and could have got similar at a spoons for around half the price. The homemade chips are a nice touch and the chorizo type sausages were amazing.Kid-friendliness: I had my kids with me
Excellent food. Excellent service.
I always want to support small businesses- but chips on both our meals were still hard potato in the middle - and although (once I’d finally got someone’s attention) reheated and returned - there was no apology and no one returned to check if the food was ok. I felt like I was the one who was a problem- and so sadly I won’t be back. Other locals seem to love the place which is great.
Mr. António and his family are an example of dedication to Portuguese traditions, family values and winning at the cost of their sweat and work.
