Fabulous food and service. Will definitely be back
Food sensational but service really does need attending to. Only being able to describe dishes as “nice” or “really nice” just doesn’t do the quality coming out the kitchen justice. Attentiveness needs work.
Mutton kottu sensational, had to take some home with me for another go. The hopper and accompanying sambals were also standout.
Side note, a bizarre choice of pairing a deliciously spicy mutton crepe with ketchup was baffling.
Will most definitely be back.
Lovely Food and friendly staff
Unfortunately didn't get a chance to eat there due to food allergies however the reception to that information was the problem.
We were given a somewhat curt response when telling them of multiple food allergies - dairy eggs and nuts which boiled down to they couldn't accomate to food allergies on the go - it was not a particularly busy night, many tables weren't occupied (additionally we were told it is better to book in advance despite there being no suggestion in the restaurant or on the visible menu in the window to do so).
At the time of visit (some months ago admittedly) the coconut milk powder they use contains milk protein (also making it unsuitable for vegans imo) so any of their coconut based dishes that uses it is already gone as options which deflated the whole notion of trying to eat there.
In regards to allergies - if that has changed since and any staff respond to reviews please do as I do not want to put a local restaurant down if my comments are now outdated.
If not, invest in different coconut milk powder and make an allergen menu (we certainly weren't given one at the time if Colombo Kitchen has one) it only makes the lives of any allergy sufferer easier.
What an amazing restaurant. One of the best we’ve tried in Putney over the 3 years of living here. Staff all have a smile on their face and were so friendly and attentive. The food was delicious - we had the Kottu and the king prawn curry. A bonus is that the interior decor is tasteful and the atmosphere is perfect. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back. Although we’re not gluten free, it’s nice to see so many options for those who need that.
Just had our 3rd visit in 18 months and it didn't disappoint. Food consistently good. The textures spot on which many Sri Lankan places get wrong. Great cocktail menu but wish they had better beers and wines. Service was with a smile and really good considering how busy they were.
Parking: Not many spots in front of the restaurant. Need to use side roads
We absolutely love this restaurant. Every dish is amazing, you can’t go wrong. The food is fresh and tasty and as close to actually being in Sri Lanka as you can get. The service is always brilliant too.
Excellent service all around, and the food was exquisite, especially the dessert at the end was the perfect way to round off the meal.
Vegetarian options: In the menu, it’s clearly stated if the food is vegetarian or not, as well as listing the main ingredients used.
Dietary restrictions: They asked if we have any dietary restrictions prior to putting the order in.
The best Sri Lankan authentic food in town!
We loved coming here! Living in the US, we don’t have Sri Lankan restaurants like this… and the food was just like home cooking! I even called my mom back in the States to tell her how good everything here was. The staff are excellent and so friendly. Don’t change a thing! Wonderful to see Sri Lankan food being enjoyed by everyone in such a wonderful atmosphere.

Amazing food, really friendly staff. Great authentic cuisine, well worth a visit!
I have been here couple of times with my partner and decided to treat my family to celebrate my brother’s birthday and everyone loved the food, atmosphere and the amazing service provided by each member of staff. THANK YOU EVERYONE! We will be back as the Sri Lankan food is authentic and most importantly cooked to a very high standard. Delicious!! Brought back childhood memories.
Vegetarian options: One family member is vegan and he loved the large selection of food to choose from. He loved the vegan options available. He cannot wait to visit again.
Amazing food and brilliant cocktails. Our favourite restaurant, love especially the king prawn curry!
Dietary restrictions: Excellent for delicious gluten free choices.
The very best Sri Lankan food in London. The Jackfruit curry takes me back to Sri Lanka. The hoppers have a wonderful texture, and crispy sides. Worth every penny.
We ordered our food and drinks and we got the drinks straight away but the food took ages to arrive. After it had arrived the food was amazing and I definitely enjoyed it, the staff were all so nice and friendly to us.
