The sensible choice in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Service was extremely slow, 35+ minutes for our order) but can somewhat understand as it was a bank holiday weekend so it was busy. However the food was a royal disappointment. My mum ordered the bao buns, of which were extremely dry and not at all the correct consistency of a bao bun. I ordered the steak - which was the biggest disappointment. They first brought me the wrong meal, which was a steak pie, so waited extra long for my food… but when they brought out my steak finally, I wasn’t sure it was steak. The texture was rubbery and gelatinous, it has a really gross aftertaste too. It didn’t taste like legitimate steak, as a result I only had about two or three pieces and had to forfeit my whole meal and fill up on the chips. By the time I got home I was cramping and had the worst gastro which one can only assume was from that steak. For being the most expensive food on the menu, I would’ve really hoped it was at least edible. No refunds or anything like that either despite not eating the meal. Hoping this isn’t how it always is as we were visiting as part of a road trip and was our first time in stratford upon Avon.

Visited here for our 41st anniversary. On entry to the pub we noticed about eight tables all with remnants of their last occupants.....these were tidied and cleaned so we sat down. Our first choice of food had sold out so opted for the fish and chips. Food was nice and well cooked. We bothe decided this would be our one and only visit here and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Maybe it was an off day.

Just pub food but ok, car park is unmade, tight & small so street is advisable.

Arrived at 20:15 for an evening meal Saturday evening. The bar attendant said the kitchen was closing at 20:30. As we had chosen our meal then we were told it was off the menu & also 6 Options. As we left a table of 6 went to order & they were told the kitchen was closed.

Absolutely loved The Windmill. After traveling for almost 18 hours, we just wanted a nice place to grab some fish and chips or a burger and The Windmill was perfect. Amazing atmosphere in a building from around 1600, the staff was patient and kind and the food was top shelf.

Aussies loved this little pub, service and atmosphere great. Have a great deal on 3 small plates of food for 15 pound. (Plates not that small) had a delicious Kargee Chicken and Harissa Hummus and Jerk chicken Bao bun. Would recommend.

I booked The Windmill for my wedding party venue! There were 16 guests in total and we had an amazing time. The buffet was fantastic and the service was excellent. We were so well catered for and staff could not do enough for us.

I've always had a great time at The Windmill and this occasion was no different. We could not have asked for a better day. Thank you!
