It was okay. Nothing to be so crazy about for the bowls... There was barely any fun or salmon..mostly just rice. Service was also slow even though there was noone in front of me

£9 for just rice and two bits of mushy chicken which had zero flavour, no seasoning and a dribble of flavourless sauce, waste of money

Seasoning is on the very, very sweet side (for japanese food) and the taste is overall not good.

Also, and that is generally a good sign for a bad Japanese place, the amount of octopus inside the takoyaki is a joke.

Visited ESF again on 6th Aug, very disappointed. Ordered regular Fish & Chips from Session's. The portion was small with no more than 8 chips and very small fish (be interesting to see what the small portion was like to compare) I actually took it back to ask if I had been given a small portion by mistake but was told no. The last time I ordered the same I got 2 crispy fish, chips were delicious & piping hot and it came with peas. Portion is now small with no peas being served. Price has also increased which is fine but not when quality & quantity is reduced. My husband had a macaroni dish which he said was lovely but took 30mins and he had to collect it himself when he went to chase up where his food was. Very disappointing visit.

The tuna and salmon poke bowl was absolutely delicious, it was a nice treat to myself I would 100% recommend this place, especially for lunch! And if you are with family who don't like this sort of food, it's a street food area with tons of different options ranging from Mexican to American! Only thing would have been nice if it was student friendly, no student discounts unfortunately :(

Wonderful Japanese food in Edinburgh! The chicken udon bowl was top-notch -- highest compliments to the chef

Whilst out walking we came across the street food location and decided we would return later that evening to have a look. We are glad we did as the experience was fantastic.\n\nIt is a very vibrant indoor and outdoor location, with plenty of music being played.\n\nThe place has numerous food and drink stalls to suit all tastes. An ideal place to go as a group as everyone will fine something that they will enjoy.\n\nOrdering: You can either go up to the individual stalls and order your food (you will need a table number for where you are sitting) or you can order direct from your table via an app. There are menu's on the table covering all what's on offer from the various stalls. \nWhich ever way you order the food will be delivered to your table. \n\nThis is a very well organised operation, we were very impressed with our visit. The place is buzzing, great friendly atmosphere, It was very busy and well worth the visit.

Just watched not one but two employees handle raw food and touch both the card machine and counter mounted menu without changing their gloves.

The location is superb and is a really cool space that feels fresh and modern. The food options were brilliant and had something for everyone. When it came it was also delicious and really good value for money.\nThe only issue is that it is very slow. The staff simply cannot cope with the number of customers and orders coming through. Drinks from the main bar took 25 mins to arrive and food was even worse. We waited 40 mins for 2 small pizzas. \nA great idea and it could be amazing, but needs investment in more staff.

Incredibly small portion of udon noodles for like £9, sold as a main but barely a starter in size

Good place, they could be better, the sauces, soy is missing

This is not "a" restaurant, it is 10 market stalls in one hall. Here you order either via App on your phone or you go to a booth. You say the table number and when your meal ist prepared a "runner" will serve it to your table. The atmosphere is busy, you don't stay too long, but the food is fantastic. Try the mexican vegan options. Wonderful.

Was expecting great things based on the reputation of Harajuku, so picked sushi as a choice at ESF a few weeks ago. The sushi came 25 minutes after most of the food from other traders, it was weirdly luke warm (?) and the sliced salmon roll we’d opted for was loose and messy and lacked the fresh flavours I love about sushi normally. Just really underwhelming unfortunately

It might be tugged away and have a dreadful neon entrance, but don't let that put you off. The place is buzzing!\n\nThe are printed menus but easiest is to use the QR code and use the app. it works well and the food comes as and when it is ready. Our friends and the hotel receptionist highly recommended this and now we understand why! \n\nThe food is delicious with authentic flavours and very fresh. Even something as simple as the crispy chicken was outstanding and put places like KFC in the shade. plenty full, piping hot and succulent. You order the sauces separately and they too are great. One sauce per person is enough and there are 6 sauces to choice from.\n\nThe boa bun was the next level, (better that China Town in London!) with a superb prawn dumpling and we cant recommend the food court enough.\n2 rounds of drinks and 2 dishes each cost us about £60, so no cheaper or expensive than an ordinary restaurant but outstanding quality and a great night out.\n\nThere is outdoor setting and live music in the weekends so what is there not to like it

This place is amazing, the variety of food, the atmosphere, the flavours! My husband and I popped in for lunch as we both like different foods and wanted somewhere where we could have lots of choice. This was perfect. He had the 'poor peoples steak' from The Peruvian, masses of beautifully seasoned food including an 8oz steak, chips, garlic rice and fried plantain for £13!?!? And I had the delicious bone in beef rib sandwich from Mr Boney for £10, stunning! Then, to finish it off, we both had an italian meringue topped hot chocolate from Soft Core - this was bliss!! I'm going back for more!!! All in all I could not fault the set up, the food, the service, anything. Highly recommended.
