Passed by the restaurant a few times on the way to Berwick Upon Tweed and one day decided to stop in and see what it was like. It was very quiet when we arrived just another couple in eating. We ordered a breakfast , which was nice , the man who ran it spoke to us about the place and that he hadn’t long took it over. In all the food was good and the staff friendly, but something seemed missing , mostly customers not sure it will survive , hope it does tho !

We had driven virtually from the west coast to the east, to holiday in Lower Burnmouth. On that "historical route", the A7, from Carlisle to Edinburgh there are virtually no, if any, inns open nor services. We were gasping for our after lunch coffee and the First and Last was indeed our first opportunity to slake our caffeine need.It was so sad to see the devastation which had been caused here by Storm Arwen and that they were still unable to serve any food at all. Great service from a young Lady who had just started working that day.I had soup & sausage & mash & a pot of tea.Nothing to complain about everything was spot on.Highly recommended & well worth a visit. Thankyou for excellent service & souper( sorry i could not resist the pun) service.
