Tragedy that this wonderful pub has had to close down. A real loss to South Somerset. Happy memories of superb food and a lovely landlord.

The best Sunday lunch in the area, and I've tried quite a few. A fabulous comfortable pub with well kept local beers, local food, a relaxed atmosphere and great service. The perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Well worth travelling to, you won't be disappointed.

One of my favourite pubs. Very atmospheric - dark, cosy, beamed, roaring fire. There's a garden too. Very well managed. Dogs very welcome. Food, a cut above your usual pub fare. Definitely recommend ?

Lovely country pub, convivial host and an incredibly eclectic menu. The Menu Fixe was very reasonable for some wonderfully cooked unusual dishes : curried parsnip soup and a wonderful chicken pie with a twist.
Highly recommend, whether you are a foodie or just want well cooked dishes and a pint.

Last night we celebrated my wedding anniversary with friends. We were welcomed by the owner. The food was freshly prepared and of high quality, and perfectly served by Holly. She was friendly, efficient and always had a smile. The pub is very well looked after and makes you want to return. Thank you for looking after us, this wasn’t our first time as we often pop in with our favourite butcher Steve and certainly won’t be the last either. Thank you ?

The food is delicious and we always have a lovely time when we go here.

Had a lovely lunch. It's so nice to find a pub that does proper fresh and interesting food, not just stuff from a catering company. Portion size is nice too, not overwhelmingly large but high quality so feel well fed but not stuffed. Also good flat cider.

Read and digest! - so often recently we've gone out for dinner to leave underwhelmed and disillusioned at the quality of the meal and the customer service experience.

We went for dinner at The Cats Head last evening with good friends, they chose the venue having been before. On arrival there was a relaxed and warm welcome from the Landlord, the menu was varied and interesting and the food which was very obviously cooked to order was of high quality and delicious! we were served by Holly who was so lovely and did everything to ensure our customer experience was first class and memorable.

Our overall experience has restored faith in the hospitality industry, THANK YOU! to The Cats Head, we will certainly be returning and will not hesitate in recommending this gem of a place.

Of course we tried out all the pubs near the cottage. This also included the Cat Head Inn. The service staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was tasty and sufficient, but unfortunately we couldn't fit in dessert ?

Incredible lovely hidden place!! Thanks to Andrew for the elegant service, and God bless Anne for her amazing hands for cooking!! Really enjoyed a luxurious dinner in a charming old house! Hope we'll be back sometime!!

Excellent Sunday roast, very generous portions, fantastic ale. Loved the decor and feeling of space. Really lovely garden for pudding after, with antiques and objects to look at and buy in the old skittle alley

A wonderful old village pub in a lovely part of Somerset. We ate here twice during our week's stay at nearby Montacute (beautiful village). The welcome, ambience, service & food couldn't have been better. We're Sunday Roast addicts & you won't find a better one. A fine pint of Butcombe bitter, too.
Highly recommended & we look forward to returning next year.
