Amazing food, staff couldn't of been more helpful, very comfortable seating areas.

We hired the upstairs venue for a party. It was just how we wanted it. Family friends. Happy times. Only criticism is that we paid £150 for chair and table decorations. We chose the colours we wanted only to find there had been a wedding the day before and was going to be a we’d the day after. We therefore did it get the colours we wanted. Which I felt was a little cheeky as we paid for something we didn’t get

Haven't ate in here for a good while. I've heard the foods ok. Had a couple of dodgy pints in there in the last 12 months.

Parking: Hit and miss. Surrounded by terraced houses so you'll imagine what it's like to park

Did a murder mystery show for de caversmill in the function room upstairs. Food was seved between scenes. The guests said it tasted fantastic. We did throw about 15 extra guests in on the 3rd and 4th night and the Birches Head did a brilliant job.

We visited for Pie Night.Veggie Pie was a bit stodgy and mainly all potato but not badMy partner ate most of it.My steak and stilton pie didn't have a lot of meat in it and no cheese flavour. The meat I did have was tender and a good taste.Gravy was niceParking round the back is a real problem as it's ALL residents parking - except a smallish car park - be lucky

Outdated and neglected establishment.

Having seen a post on Facebook about Thursday Pie Night (2 Pie meals for £15), and feeling exhausted after a long day, we decided to call in on the way home from work. We were the only people in the dining area so there wasn't much atmosphere, however there was some subtle music playing. In honesty I was grateful for the peace! The young lady serving us was really polite and attentive. The food was much better than we anticipated! Cheesy garlic bread was soft and tasty, and only £2.95! The chips were different than most other places and I would have personally preferred them to be thick cut and cooked in more oil, they were more like baked wedges but still pleasant. The star of the show was the steak and ale pie, which was packed with meat and in a deliciously thick Guinness gravy. £30 for 2 meals, 2 starters and 2 drinks us excellent value and we will definitely be coming back!

Decided to give it a go after a long break ,Was hoping it was like it used to be food wise ,sad to say the menu was to be honest, either pies or burgers ,or fish and chips .However wife had a steak pie ,I had Hunters chicken which to be fair was nice ,plates cleaned ,bar side of the pub was buzzing which was lovely to see. Maybe in time the menu will expand hope soThe service was good ,waitress service please note , will return .
