Most of the reviews of this pub are from when it was under different management and had different names. I went there for lunch today (Tuesday). Apparently, they don't do food on Tuesday and you're supposed to know that, judging by their attitude (no apology. They don't tell you when they ARE serving food). Nothing on their flier or web site tells you that. You only find out if you book a table and who books a table in a pub on a Tuesday lunchtime? Unsurprisingly I was the only customer between 1 and 2pm. Two people did come in and immediately left when discovering the kitchen was closed.
They obviously don't want my custom which is lucky because the certainly aren't getting it.
My first visit to the establishment in about 5 years and it was fabulous, my wife and I visited Saturday tea time (10.8.24) and were not disappointed… food was incredible, very well cooked and presented… and the flavours… oh my days !!! My wife had the waffles and chicken whilst I had the Chicken Poutine , both dishes were polished off quick time !!… the atmosphere was very laid back with friendly staff and good background music … had a pint of vocation to wash it down with which was excellent… 100% will be returning very soon ???
Cool reggae vibes on a Sunday afternoon!
Outdoor seating was fabulous to enjoy the music and sunny weather, all complimented by delicious food and wonderful service and conversation from our waitress and manager! Will definitely come back very soon.
Absolutely amazing! I had the Pulled Beef Brisket with a side of mac and cheese. Wow. Everything from the fries, meat, and I’m not even usually a fan of slaw either, but it complimented the meal perfectly. Great beers choices as well. I highly recommend to anyone!
Under new ownership and already have a great programme of events coming up in August. Already booked for Carl Chinn. Just popped in for a beer checking out the Jamaican independence day celebrations. Stayed for a few including a complementary can of Red Stripe. Met Glenn the owners father on his 56th wedding anniversary and he shared his secret of a long loving marriage. Looking sharp at 80 years old!
Got a good feeling this place is going to be a local gem. Definitely be back very soon
Surprised just how good this pub was
Great service and atmosphere
Last drank here 45yrs ago when it was called the "George" by regulars, it's now the Pig and Tail and wow what a change , used to be a dark damp sawdust floored over partitioned boozer, now it's lovely and bright but retains lots of period features , never appreciated how nice the stained glass windows were. Lots of different beers , cocktails, teas and coffees, had a burger and fries and it was so good, very friendly staff and just a really cool place to be...not waiting another 45yrs, will be back very soon
Quaint pub in a quiet area.
Only snacks are available after 2:30pm every day?

I hired the Pig & Tail out for my boyfriend's 30th birthday, and it was genuinely the best decision ever. Everything from the food, the service, the venue, to the help in organising from the owner Mark was absolutely incredible. The venue is such a beautiful space, and the staff so friendly and helpful. The food was 1000/10 and exceeded my expectations in every single way. No task was too big for the staff, they really were amazing. I strongly recommend the Pig & Tail whether just popping in for a drink or hiring for events, you will not be disappointed.
Kid-friendliness: Staff made us feel welcome and food was beautiful, will recommend and go again
