Very poor quality rump steak. Otherwise good. Staff very pleasant. In response to your reply, I did mention the poor quality steak to a member of your staff waiting on our table.

The Anchor hosted our wake for a beloved family member today. I can’t thank you enough for your kindness and service. Particularly the young girl behind the bar who dealt with our food order (sorry I can’t remember the name) . The food was excellent and you couldn’t do enough for us. Wishing you every success in the future

Since this place has had a revamp it is sooo lovely! Been here today for mothers day with the kids and they're pricing is good and the quality of food is good, a big improvement in deed! Staff are lovely and welcoming. Definitely recommend and will be back.

I love the anchor took my son there for his 18th.only thing I can complain about is the food u ordered some of the items r missing like fish and chips with peas and tartar sauce. I asked and they said sorry we don't have any.y don't they say this when u order and the fish was over cooked ?

Not the old Anchor we all used to know , with its face lift, the atmosphere is now very chilled and relaxed ,the food is now very nice and freshly cooked to order . And the service I would say

Really nice local pub, staff are lovely and inviting, especially Becki and Dan. Would recommend to any, really good prices for drinks and student friendly discounts!

Becki served me a delicious pint of beer. Very smiley and polite. Definitely coming here again :)

Excellent steak meal here while staying at the travel lodge next door. Would recommend a visit. We felt it was better than the Toby carvery next door which we tried the night before.
Dramatically improved by the makeover. Food is exceptionally good value, nicely served and tasty and the quantity is just right. Staff are friendly and helpful.

My steak was tough, the chips weren't cooked thoroughly and no one asked me how my meal was until I'd finished. My initial contact was excellent so I had high hopes. They did offer me a free dessert and to comp me the meal but I settled for a free drink as work paid for my meal. I will say the staff where polite but missed many opportunities to make things right prior to the end of my meal. I did debate on going to the Toby next door. As soon as I tried it I wished I had.

Nicely renovated. Staff friendly & service quick. Poor selection for vegetarians. Food was bulk standard pub grub. OK for a quick lunch.
