“We came here as a family of 8, 2 adults and 6 children ranging from 11 months to 16 following a recommendation due to the gluten free menu. \n\nBeing a coeliac, Chinese is one food that I feel deprived on so as soon as this restaurant was recommended I booked a table and we was not disappointed. \n\nWe had the Sunday order as you eat menu and the service and food was second to none. The team took time to the the younger children attention and was teaching everyone how to use chop sticks. \n\nOverall it was an excellent experience. “Had a lovely visit as a family to the new refectory on a Thursday afternoon, plenty of space, great beers (with good low & no alcohol options) and lovely interior.

Really family friendly too, with high chairs available and baby changing. One of the members of staff (we didn’t catch her name!) was making our 7 month old baby laugh and he was very sad to leave! That sort of service really made our visit so great, especially as taking a baby out and about can be hard work but they made it really enjoyable for us and for him.

Highly recommend the pizzas too, very tasty and huge!

“Attended a chocolate making workshop in Thame shop, 31.07.25, very friendly and helpful instructor who patiently talked us through the steps of making our chocolate animal figurines. Great fun and delicious results! Would visit again.“

“We celebrated my dads 90th Birthday last night … 14 of us in total.. 4 generations of family. We were made to feel extremely welcome by all the staff from start to finish and even the locals and other diners joined in in with the singing and clapping when doing Happy Birthday.. with several people coming over to congratulate my dad. “What a lovely place this is, and Joy - the owner - as equally. Was quite familiar with Surinam food, and you would expect some similarities but its surprisingly different it turns out.

Can highly recommended this place to any adventurous eater who's not afraid of trying something new. Joy will happily guide you through her extensive colourful menu.
