“I didn't have the chance to eat here unfortunately, but I am sure the food is amazing. We had a few drinks, the staff were incredibly friendly and make you feel welcome.
It's a beautiful venue in an amazing location. The outdoor seating is very good, with great views. It's a very dog friendly venue, so perfect spot to go if you have a good.
I will visit again one day to try out the food!”

“Recommended by a friend we were lucky to get a last minute table for lunch on Sunday. Whilst none of our party had roast dinner, there were plenty of other tasty options. I would highly recommend the mushroom in cheese and port sauce - could have eaten it as a main!! There is a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant and the staff are friendly and efficient.”

“Subtlety with enthusiasm Great experience. Firstly finding the way in, fortunately we met someone else visiting who showed us the path. Met as we walked in by young staff very keen to assist. We were seated down the stairs in the lower area. Some reviewers have nit picked about the decor, personally, like many other aspects of the venue, it simply is part of what this place is. Staff, including chef are all young and very enthusiastic. The experience is a selection of fascinating dishes with mostly subtle but fascinating flavours. Personal preference was the bread roll was slightly too salty for my taste and the beef cheek another really strong flavour but that's my view. The fish dishes were both superb, the desserts were both amazing. I was really looking forward to the rhubarb course slightly concerned that is would be challenged by the strength of the rhubarb, but it was pitched perfectly. Lovely experience, a venue with interested friendly staff who clearly cate. Chef was lovely to chat to, obviously very passionate about his craft. One minor observation, we travelled a round trip of maybe 180 miles both needing to drive as part of the journey, so a small selection of cocktails might have been a good option to offer too. Toilet (mixed bathing) clean and functional. Great experience, has potential for future escalating awards”

“Brilliant service from when I booked on the phone through to the event itself. I was asked on the phone if it was for a birthday, I told them yes but not a special one. They made it special anyway (I won't spoil it for others!)
The staff were very friendly, the food was great and the facilities were lovely. I'll definitely be going back.”

“I had a fantastic experience at Slug and Lettuce! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, especially the creamy mushroom risotto, and the cocktail selection was impressive. Overall, it’s a perfect spot for a great meal and a fun time. Highly recommend! 5/5!”

“I visited today with my partner and everything was delicious. Food was delicious, service was quick and menu was lovely and varied. We got 3 bagels to share as we couldn’t decide and they were all 10/10.”

“The special was good, Shepard's pie, but at £16, (no price desplelayed) anf more expensive tham anyting on he regular menus, probably best to avoid there "specials". Apart from this gripe, it is an excellent friendly pub.”
“This hidden gem exceeded expectations! The staff were incredibly attentive, and the food was simply exquisite. We'll be returning. The only minor suggestion would be to consider a different musical atmosphere. While the current playlist is enjoyable, a more refined ambience, perhaps with French music or classical pieces, might complement the venue's charm.”
