The room was amazing and the cooked breakfast was just what I needed.

It's a lot better after the refit and the breakfast was actually very good. I didn't have dinner the night before so cannot comment.

We stayed last night. Was very happy with the service and the room. The staff were lovely. Would definitely stay again

Not good service. Forgot parts of most orders. Took about an hour and a half for food to arrive. Took a while for our plates to be taken. It was made up with free dessert.

We went there for a family meal this evening and was the worst meal we have had in a long time. The food was terrible and the service was even worse. As soon as we had finished our half eaten meal they brought out our deserts and didn't even bother clearing our dinner plates. The gentleman who brought them over told us he was on his own ( the pub was empty) when I went to complain he was standing behind the bar playing on his mobile phone and did not seem intrested in what I was telling him...whole experience was a shambles

Went there to eat, food took an age to come out, wasn't hot and was overcooked. So late out that when we asked to order dessert, the kitchen had closed, so we were denied.

Unfortunately we had a very poor experience here today. Our family arrived at 12.30-45 for Saturday lunch. We had a drink (the limes were off..) when we ordered our meal at 1.10, we told there would be a 45 minute wait, despite the eating area being almost empty. At 1.25 we were told that all but one of our four meals were unavailable. We changed our individual orders and at 1.40 ish, we were told that they did not have any defrosted fish. My relative therefore changed her fish and chip order to the full English. Ten minutes later, we were told they had no hash browns, at which point, err at 2pm, we all stood up and said enough. We requested a refund and despite some initial reluctancy, the manager eventually conceded. ** sooo ... the management of this establishment really needs to review how they are running their operation. A Saturday afternoon surely is the busiest time of the week, and for them to not have any food available is odd. But perhaps we should have realised something was wrong by the sight of all the empty tables. And now reviewing these google reviews, i can understand why. Shame coz the venue was physically very nice, the menu appetising and staff seemed pleasant, it’s also well located. We walked home and ordered two big pizzas from Dominoes which arrived from another part of town, in 10 minutes!!!!!!! I hope the Highway Man management/owners can correct this!

Five of us went in for a meal yesterday. Very limited range of food available from the menu.Waiting staff were fine.Be aware though, we went in around 7.30pm and my nephew decided on the all day breakfast. What they don't state on the menu is that it's all day as in its cooked in the morning and served all day.The egg was solid and the sausage so hard it could have doubled up as an offensive weapon. I kid you not, the fork could not pierce it though it did have a satisfying clang when you tapped it against the dinner plate.

Where to start. Took over 30 mins just to get a member of staff to check in, upon finally getting in, i got to my room to find it was basically a shoebox with dirty towels in. But hey its cheap, so i thought id give the pub a try. Big mistake. Apparently the cast of the hills have eyes are regulars here. Honestly avoid this absolute dump at all costs. 1 star is being generous.

Staff very helpful even though was mad busy for them. Room was very comfortable. Central heating wasn't working so an electric heater was provided.Food in the pub was what expect from hungry horse and arrived in good time.Has a decent size car park but if your driving anything bigger than a long wheel base van you will struggle to park. Most roads in area double yellows so could be issue with getting parked.Overall a comfortable stay, again staff super helpful and a credit to the place. Many thanks.

Went there for lunch. Have been previously and always enjoyed it, no fuss, good with kids. However this time strolled up to the bar at 1205 to order some food to be told that they weren't taking food orders because the chef was on break. At lunch. Surely that's the time that the chef shouldn't be on break. Who's the day chef cooking for if he isn't making lunch for customers?

Do not eat here if you have an allergy or intolerance. It's very clear that the kitchen staff do not know what allergens are present in their dishes or how to prevent really obvious cross contamination.I ordered food from the non gluten containing menu via the app. When it came out, there was literally nothing on the plate that I could eat.The burger was in a regular bun, there were fries (which aren't on the NGC menu, because they aren't gluten free) and onion rings.I checked with the server, who checked with the kitchen and she came back with the burger in a gluten free bun, but still with fries and onion rings. She apologized because they didn't have any mayo?Said about the fries and onion rings and she went back to the kitchen, returning with a fully gluten free meal. She said that they didn't have any vegan mayoI told her that it didn't need to be vegan because regular mayo is gluten free, at which point I got the coleslaw.Within a few hours, I've started having signs of a coeliac attack, so I'm pretty sure when the bun was changed they just took the original burger out of the bun and put it in a gluten free one. Which doesn't stop it being contaminated. It's a shame, because every member of staff we interacted with was lovely! Service was really good if a bit slow, and it was nice food for a decent price. If you don't have a restricted diet, then would highly recommend.

On this occasion terrible .waiting over an hour for food after being told would only be 20 min. Asked for starters to come out with main but came out separately then waited a further half hour + for main. However...the food was tip top delicious and staff were lovely . I'd still

Arrived just after 9pm and after pressing the bell I was greeted by a really helpful and polite chap. Check in was easy and then I went back to the room. The room was clean, warm and smelled fresh. I fell asleep in the really comfy bed but was awoken at about half 11 by some eastern Europeans talking loudly in the corridor outside my room. My plea of "keep the noise down or fork orf" seemed to work and they went off down the corridor. I've knocked a star off for that.Other than that I would happily stay here again.
