We attended a lunch for our nephew’s christening. The setting was absolutely beautiful, the staff were so so lovely and the food was delicious and there was plenty of it. The whole day was faultless.
We stayed one night at the hotel. The room was very nice. The staff were all very helpful. We had a lovely cooked breakfast in the morning. The gardens are very nice. We also attended a christening the next day. The organiser ‘Kim’ was very organised, food was really nicely presented. Again, all the staff were great. Definitely recommend for an occasion.
Rooms: Very good. Old fashioned decor but it is an old manor house
Nearby activities: Nice countryside. Lots of wildlife.
Safety: Good. No problems with safety.
Walkability: Easy walk to town and station
Food and drinks: Very good food at the hotel.
Noteworthy details: Friendly staff
We had our wedding there. Fantastic place. Beautiful location, Great weather and wonderful attentive staff. Couldn't have gone any better.
Very small double room which was one of their standard double rooms.
Bulky furniture which made the room smaller. Very hard to walk to the ensuite bathroom without bashing against a piece of furniture in the middle of the night.
Very poor lighting in room
Bed very uncomfortable.
Curtains very dusty
Bathroom old and could do with a bit of a touch up, nice touch with the bath robes and slippers.
Breakfast was very nice but the tea was like dish water.
I won’t be staying at this hotel again which is a shame because it looks luxurious and beautiful on the outside with lovely scenery.and certainly not worth the £170 + for one night
Rooms: Standard double very small this room was up stairs.
Staff were friendly and attentive. The location was lovely and the courtyard was a great place to have dinner. The food was solid, if not a little expensive.
Drinks were quite expensive.
The rooms were a little dated, could use some modernisation.
Fairly dated hotel. The room needs modernization and definitely a small fridge; cleanliness should be improved.
The staff is truly professional and kind. Excellent breakfast. The dinner was good but too expensive. I confirm three stars
I was soo impressed by the staff , & their friendliness , helpful . & nothing would be too much trouble attitude. what fabulous customer service... food was delicious too.
We had afternoon tea which was lovely the lady that was tending to us was fantastic ?, it's a lovely place with lots of grounds, they def could b making more of them tho what was the kitchen garden years ago I'm guessing could b turning into a private hire wedding area marquee out them etc staff were all friendly and helpful
Food & drinks: The afternoon tea was lovely
Noteworthy details: Lovely old building beautiful views
We spent one night at the hotel and can safely say it was best place we have stayed at mainly due to the welcome from the staff. From reception, servers, cleaners and cooks everyone made you feel so welcome and they all seemed to genuinely care about their work. The food for both our evening meal and breakfast were very tasty and of a high standard. The view from our room overlooking the grounds was beautiful. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a great location with excellent service.
Lovely one night stay, breakfast was excellent, very well cooked and quality ingredients. The room, umber 7 was huge, and clean, lovely shower, disappointed no biscuits on the tea tray.Room just a little tired, which is why I have dropped a,star, but it didn't affect our stay.Staff extremely pleasant and cheerful.

Just an overnight stay while visiting family.A rare find, "olde world" and steeped in history. The staff and receptionists were exceptional, extremely customer focused. The room was nice but on the small side, after we opened the bay windows onto the grounds, size just didn't matter any more.We didn't have an evening meal as we were visiting family, but we did have breakfast which was a superior experience to certain "chain hotels"; white table linen and table service, very civilised.I'm definitely booking a weekend here when the weather warms up.Rooms: Rooms have all of the usual amenities along with bathrobes albeit on the small side and disposable slippers.Food & drinks: Room service available up to 21:00.Noteworthy details: Free WiFi with excellent coverage throughout the hotel.
We stayed as part of a Virgin Experience deal and had 1 night DBB. Due to the price we paid expectations were not high, how wrong we were! The hotel is small and in lovely grounds, the rooms have character and in certain areas they could benefit with upgrading. However, comfortable enough for 1 night and clean. Every single member of staff without exception were friendly, welcoming and professional. The food was very well presented and tasted lovely and fresh, compliments to the chefs.
A beautiful country residence with an amazing staff. You are made to feel welcome from the moment you step into reception. Andy was both helpful and informative telling us a little about the history of the property and making sure we had everything we needed whilst we stayed with them. We were shown to our room and had any questions answered while on route and then in the room, professional and courteous.Rooms: Huge bed... Loved it. A little dated but the house dates back to the early 1800 so be ready for some quirky things. The shower over the bath was fun to deal with and the roof slopes over the top of it so you had to kneel down to take a shower, no great shame, just made it a little more interesting...Nearby activities: We stayed here so we could visit Bletchley Park, but there are loads of other interesting and worthwhile places to visit within a 20-30 minutes drive. You could also walk into the local town/village (10 mins)which had a couple of pubs and other general shops.Food & drinks: The food served was outstanding, both the 3 course evening meal and breakfast. You won't go hungry or be disappointed. You had a good choice of drinks although a little expensive. The service and attention you receive from the staff is amazing, Holly, Sophia and Kim looked after all of our needs and were more than happy to have a chat and make you feel wanted and a part of their family.
Kirsten on reception was amazing! So helpful, friendly and welcoming.Nothing was too much trouble.
This is a beautiful place to stay. Me and my partner stayed here and enjoyed every minute. Great service and food
