I have been going here for Sunday lunch for the past 20 months. Since having a heart related fall, which has left me with severely impaired vision and unable to drive, I am very grateful to a friend who collects me every week and drives me to the Hansom Cab for lunch. The food is excellent and the staff are caring and efficient. There is a large garden with play area and tables, including some in an open sided covered area.

We had a lovely 3 course Christmas dinner. Service was excellent and food was excellent value. Will definitely visit again.

Brilliant lunch & great value. Food tasty & good portions. The staff are very friendly & work really hard. Amy & all the staff are amazing. The pub is homely & welcoming with nice ambience & places to sit & relax. It’s worth travelling from the Gatwick area ! Thank you VERY much.

My usual weekly visit to the Hansom Cab has revealed a noticeable decline in quality over the past month. The staff seem disorganised, the bar is frequently unattended, and there's a shortage of personnel most of which have an unpleasant attitude. Today's experience, however, has led me to bid farewell to this establishment. Despite being only half full, our troubles began when we arrived for our booked reservation, and they claimed to have no knowledge of it and that we couldn't eat there. It took showing them the confirmation email to change their stance, and we were finally seated. Ordering through the app, we endured a 25-minute wait for our drinks in a relatively empty space, after waiting for so long I decided to approach the bar to see what was happening with our drinks, we found it deserted, and the wait stretched to 7 minutes before someone emerged to assist. The dining experience took a turn for the worse when our food arrived. A clumsy waitress knocked a plate, causing nearly half of the meal to spill onto the floor. To our disbelief, she attempted to put the fallen food back on the plate. Rejecting this, we requested a replacement. Another dish, likely left under the heat lamp for too long, exhibited a crispy exterior on the mash and dryness, with the ale pie becoming rock hard. Although the replacement dish eventually arrived, it was a staggering 15 minutes after we had finished our meal. Despite voicing our concerns to a young girl with coloured hair at the bar, she dismissively stated, "It's not my problem; I've only just come on," and walked away. That's the final straw for me. I cannot recommend this place any longer.

Had a fantastic night, pool table and darts board which is located in the 18+area, greeted by happy bubbly staff, great atmosphere, lovely meal, burger &fries £5…. Result . Thanks Nicky Sam and Danielle for the welcoming, will be returning soon

Went to the Cab last minute 9 of us, was very busy when we got there but they got us a table. Food was beautiful, kilo chicken wing for starters ? steak was cooked perfectly. Everyone was happy with the food. Waited a little while but who wants to be rushed along! Was nice to sit and enjoy our afternoon without feeling like we had to leave quickly. Will definitely be back

This was supposed to be a celebration of my 82nd Birthday but it was a disaster. We found a table and my daughter went to the bar for drinks and place the order. 40 minutes later she went back to the bar and asked where our meals were and was told they were being plated up. That was a lie. About 15 minutes later a lady delivered our meals and apologised for missing our order. Not only that but the next day I had violent stomach pains which I can only put down to that meal.

Took family that are visiting from Australia here today. Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant . Food was amazing, freshly cooked and delicious. Such great value too. Could not fault any part of our visit. Best meal we’ve had out in a long time !! Thanks to all . We shall be returning for sure !!

Often busy as it offers good pensioners food at a very good price. Efficient and helpful staff. I have been here several times and find it consistent. Could pay to book..

Myself and wife went in hansom cab on 11 th February hoping to get some lunch all tables were reserved but a young lady with pink hair went out of her way to sqeeze us in and the food was top notch as well ?

Very good pub grub, steak was cooked how we asked, chef deserves a shout out and the manager Nicky is a lovely person and so are the staff. We will return.

Very busy since new refurb, but our order was ready without undue delay. Both meals were perfect and of exceptional value. Superb choice of draught ale, Abbott was really tasty. Poor Nicky was rushed off her feet, but still managed a happy face.
