Kids meals came out 10 mins apart.Kids pizza, the cheese was bright orange and honky.Kids chicken burger was thrown together.Carvery ok but not piping hot.Pudding items were left at the bar despite ordering on the app.Place could do with a refurbishment.Random food couriers walking through the restaurant all the time.Shame as used to be good.We wound not return.4.5 out of 10.

We have not been since beginning of October 2023, today was pleasure. Bar staff friendly, carvery hot, which it wasn’t before, meat and all veg hot . Roast potatoes excellent. I did find the chef to thank him, and will definitely be returning. Thank you.

A great place to try a carvery, good food coupled with a good price !

Restricted vegetables avaliable due to steamer breakdown. Only 2 meats avaliable (no turkey avaliable reason unknown), still charged full price. Services extremely slow. Only people in queue for carvery and waited 10 minutes for service. Ordered sweets and waited 25 minutes. Had to remind staff we were still waiting.

I've been coming to this place every once in a while for the past 15 years. Had a good meal every time. The staff are nice. The food is just what you'd expect in this price range. Never disappointed. Many fond memories of dining here.

Old medieval thatched building with a moat filled with carp and other fish you cross to enter the building. Good carvery at a modest price. Plenty of food and all piping hot. Real value for money!

When paying for a carvery you should get a decent cut of meat not the wafer thin slithers that's then weighed on Yr plate ..

Decent pub grub, service good.

Went there for a party upstairs, buffet that was laid on was poor in quantity for the price, staff miserable, even moaning about us to other members of staff, never going back?

Went for breakfast on the way to London. Bar staff not particularly helpful and just handed us a ticket for breakfast, with no advice as to where to go etc. We had booked a table however this was ignored and to be fair not necessary as there were only about half a dozen people in. The carvery counter where breakfast was served, had no sausage egg or bacon when we arrived. Grumpy chef came out asked us what we were waiting for as it was help yourself. Advised him that most breakfast items were missing and we had no plates. He slammed some plates down, swapped the empty sausage container for a full one, brought out 6 eggs a few minutes later (there were 4 of us in the queue let alone other people), when we asked about bacon told it would be 10 minutes and made to feel it was our fault we had arrived before the bacon was cooked. The bacon was finally put out 20 minutes later. It wouldn't have hurt to let us know rather than just slamming it on the counter. We had given the place a second chance as it had been closed when we arrived in December on a similar trip with a note on the door saying someone hadn't turned up. Presumably the grumpy chef!!
