Great food, good service and very friendly and helpful staff. Had the buffet roast dinner and they were very generous with the meat and all you wanted on the help yourself vegetable s great value for money and the food was very nice. I will definitely be returning to this place again and would highly recommend to all. Very happy, great service and staff.

Had a lovely quiet meal out with my kids. They loved their menu and the portion sizes were spot on. Lots on the adult menu too. The service and the staff was also top notch. And we managed to eat out for very little money, bonus!

Xmas eve dinner. Starter was nice but main meal -Turkey was dry, potatoes were crumbs, carrots looked old as skin on and everything was lukewarm. On the plus side cauliflower cheese was lush but a few of us did leave half of our meal.Other people in group were pleased with meals they had so maybe we had a bad choice.Anyway on the plus side staff were great and will be back as have had alot of nice meals before

Louise saved our family Christmas lunch. I messed up the pub booking. Louise managed to squeeze the 7 of us in at the last minute. In spite of it being busy we had great service in a relaxed atmosphere and were not rushed at all. The food was good too. Thank you all

Back in the Summer we went a couple of times because of the Childs Play Area. It was all good. Christmas Eve 2023 - RUBBISH SERVICE, the place was almost empty, and the Staff played Hide & Seek all night. Asked for the bill which eventually arrived and then sat for an age waiting for the Card Payment Machine. Gave up in the end and went and paid at the Bar. Even this was terrible. The Barmaid started taking payment and then stopped halfway through to answer the phone. Appalling Service. We are looking for another Local place now where our 3-year-old Grand Daughter has somewhere to play.

Lovely experience, Staff are super helpful and the food is lovely. There is plenty of seating in the bar and restaurant. Pool table and a couple of gambler machines if that's your thing.

Today, we stumbled upon a gem for breakfast lovers! From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with exceptional friendliness and hospitality that felt like a deluxe experience. The highlight, of course, was the breakfast itself - a delightful spread that far exceeded our expectations, especially considering the price. The quality and taste of the food were top-notch, making every bite an absolute pleasure. What sealed the deal for us was the overall ambiance and the warmth of the staff. It's rare to find a place that makes you feel so welcome and satisfied. We've already decided to make this our go-to spot for our Saturday breakfasts. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic breakfast experience. Kudos to the team for making our visit so memorable. Thank you for an excellent dining experience!

Stayed at hotel nxt door for 2 nights celebrating a friends Birthday. In total there were 12 of us staying in hotel and booked a table for the Restaurant at The Weather Vane. The menu choices were good and plenty of options especially festive menu. Unfortunately this is where the good bits end. Food came out in dribs and drabs, cold dishes, wrongly plated dishes missing items and several side dishes still waiting for now!!!! To be fair i cant say it was our servers fault as he was trying his best but the restaurant was very busy and staff numbers low.......considering that most people had booked tables they would of been aware of the numbers. Also be aware there is no heating in the female toilets so be warned its very cold in there :0 we actually went into hotel rooms to use bathroom its was that cold!! Our 2nd night we booked a meal at a local restaurant had had a better experience. We ventured back to the Weather vane for drinks as its right next to hotel. Only a handful of people in bar / restaurant tonight which was just as well due to the language and actions of 2 people sat at bar........turned out to be the kitchen manager and chef!!!! They were rather drunk and swearing and shouting at each other both laughing and falling about. There were children still in restaurant as well as our party so we were not impressed at all. Bar staff were friendly and trying to shrug off the kitchen staff actions and we were shocked when told it was staff!!!!!! Not what i would expect from a family chain and a place i will be reconsidering for future stays.

My wife and I have just had a meal that under the circumstances was really good considering that the 2 young ladies Jess and micheaela were totally rushed of their feet. The place was packed but the girls and the two lads were brilliant. I hope that whoever is in charge see this and and give these a bonus. We'll done ladies and gents. My wife and I are regulars and it's because of staff likes these.

Great Sunday lunch carvery. What really made our visit was the fantastic friendly waiter Alfie who whilst attentive to us was especially kind to a lady on our adjacent table who obviously had dementia. He couldn’t have been more kind and understanding. Well done Alfie, you are a credit to the profession.

Found these fish snogging in the claw machine. The manager (a rando baby) broke the first and second rule of fight club. Food, bloody luvly. Super affordable. Would definitely come again.
