This is my local so I have a vested interest in it doing well. Food is good pub food, staff are super friendly and atmostphere with 3 or so different areas works really well.A little out of the way so it does not get passing traffic but as a result some people go there just to get away from things.Summer is great with good sized garden.

Very nice roast, lovely ale, great service, great atmosphere. Only slight annoyance is, that there is nowhere near enough gravy, and you can only purchase more, rather than be given a small bit. That seems a little mean. Would go again.

Spent a very pleasant afternoon in the garden , dog friendly as well and a well kept pint of Stella Another visit recently very enjoyable meai excellent value for good food from a decent menu .Don't be put off by the road closures pub is still fully accessible from both White Horse Lane which takes you straight into the pub carpark or Church Lane where there is plenty of parking by the church or just past it ,as they say use it or lose it enjoy your visit

Wanted to find somewhere close to home for a late lunch on New Year’s Eve. Went to an old favourite, and not disappointed. It was tremendous. Starters, Mains and a shared pud were all a complete delight. Fresh, well cooked and good value. I can’t recall the name of the young waitress but she was a real delight, engaging and knowledgeable about the menu. We will be back and I suggest that you do likewise.

Updated Review - Nov 2023. Delighted to say this continues to be an excellent pub. Very tasty food, friendly service, and reasonable price. Having not been for some time, I liked the new decor and will certainly be going back for a family meal. (book ahead if you want a table at busy weekend times).Parking: Free parking at the front & side of the pub. Can get busy at peak times as the pub is popular, but there is plenty of on street parking in the village close by.

Lovely pub, food ok, but expensive with service charge on top. Guinness is the dearest in the whole area, including Wokingham. Sorry but will not be going there again.

Our walking group of 12 enjoyed lunch here today. The food and service were outstanding, a beautifully situated pub and lots of lovely walking in the area. We will certainly visit again, the whole experience was excellent ?
