Legendary local café in Newbury, just down the road from the station. In business for over a century and still serving up delicious tea, coffee, and cakes. Would especially recommend the lardy cake (a local speciality), and the freshly-baked bread. Also a good place to get top-quality eggs and flour.

A lovely cafe, a step Back in time to a more traditional cafe where quality and value for money matter to the owners.A little walk out of town but worth it... Nice to get away from the large high street chains who don't really care about the locals, it's economy and supporting local businesses.. Give it a try?

This a lovely small bakery/cafe. We went for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the choice on the menu, something for everyone. The food was well cooked and very tasty. Nice cosy atmosphere. Will be going back soon

Stopped for something to eat after a long journey. A warm welcome and an all day breakfast which was absolutely delicious. One of those lovely old bakeries where there is a cafe in the back. Locally sourced ingredients, including flour from the local mill and years of skill by artisan bakers. A really lovely, friendly owner too - proper old school.Definitely worth a visit - even if it’s only to marvel at the fabulous display of treats in the front window!

Small portions, price typical, taste OK but not marvellous, service indifferent, building is about 150 years old and everything is made there
