The fish was amazing a nice thick piece of cod. Often nowadays it's white fish but this was cod. The service was good they double wrapped it for a long journey.Parking: The location is difficult for parking. It is what it is, you just have to park where U can.

We ordered scampi and chips this evening and the scampi was the worst ever; large blobs of batter with very little scampi inside. Avoid.

Great Masala Fish meal. Really nice chips. Lovely freshly prepared food. Good adition to a Newbury food street. Very helpful staff. All round good experience. Highly recommended.

Used the delivery service. Worst Fish and Chips we’ve ever had. Uncooked thick batter, cold chips, chewy cold cod. Had to chase up late delivery. Recommendation? AVOID this place altogether food is of a very poor quality. There are far better places in Newbury.

The sauce is coming out of the worker’s wages it seems, begrudging amounts. Asked whether I wanted salt and vinegar on the chips but ignored that anyways and put nothing on the them. It took 25 mins and I was the only customer in there and had to remind him to add a third of the order to the bag when he said it was ready.

I brought chicken burger meal which was £6.99 there end up charging me £7.99 so I asked him why you charged me £7.99 he had nothing to say and walked off. Guys be careful there are doggy people. I will definitely will not be going back to Mr Cods ever again. End of the day there are not honest people simple as
The food is lovely had fish chips today and also got kids 1/2 burger and chips and drinks so much better then the other chip shop we have used the shop very clean and the staff are very lovely

Popped in with 1st Newbury Kimber scouts for our "chip walk" and they couldn't have been more accommodating!Seated 12 children and 3 leaders and were super friendly!Obviously I can't reveal the winner if "best chios in Newbury" here, but extra points were awarded for hospitality!
