Food was great but the service was phenomenal. Ethan was so smiley and brought us drinks in a prompt and timely manor. Can’t recommend them enough ?

No one at the bar to serve yet loads of staff around. One even wearing sweat pants and a sports bra as work uniform, not very professional. I stood waiting for so long for a drink with none else at the bar so shpuod have been quick, to the point my partner had to take over. Food took for ever to come we had to go up twice to check on it. Dread to think how they run when it's actually busy!

What a fantastic night!! Cassie & Ethan welcomed us with the most attentive table service and hospitality you could want. For a Friday night we were worried that the service would be slow but we couldn’t have been more wrong!! Cracking and we are already planning our next night out!! ❤️ what a lovely crew you have Newbury S&L !!

Christmas Family Get Together in Newbury today. Food was poor and our grandchildren had poor food which was not as described also. We had spent a few hours spending money buying food and drink and were then told we had 15 mins to finish and leave. We moved to a smaller table as some of our party had left and there was no reserved notice on the table we moved to. We were then approached by a member of staff who said that table was reserved and we had to leave. Apparently all the tables were reserved and although we were still relaxing enjoying our Christmas get together the staff member’s comment was ‘well that’s hospitality for you’. The attitude was very disappointing in general, the food was also poor and the general standard has dropped dramatically. Clearly, the staff are poorly trained and spending our hard earned money during the current climate at the Slug and Lettuce in Newbury was clearly not appreciated and therefore we will never support that venue again. We will being supporting venues of a better standard in future. How very sad!

A vile offence to the food and beverage industry. Horrific management, chaotic ordering process and abysmal display of amateur effort and approach. AVOID at all costs, I would not even go in to use the loo (defection shack)!!!

A lunch stop on our way to Weston super mare. I had the halloumi and mushroom burger. My husband had a cheese burger. Excellent choice. Friendly staff, excellent service and food So much better than the one we visited at Portsmouth Quays

Very unpleasant environment, had to call three times to have the table clean and the music was very loud that we could not hear each other, this was at lunch time, I have asked if they could turn it down a bit and I was completely ignored… not recommended at all!
