Great Sunday lunch in Oct 2020Returned in June 2021, excellent Sunday Roast again and desserts. Great ale and fine wine. Fantastic service. Will have to return to Salisbury and the Pheasant again. Great old InnReturned Easter 2022Martin and the team run a wonderful establishment. Great Easter Sunday Roast. Great ale and fine wine. Now a favourite must when visiting Salisbury. Will return.Returned Feb 2024Seems to be under new management purhaps? Standard remains highSunday menu seems simple but traditional.Bitter ale was very, vey cold (unnecessarily chilled?)Roast was again very good. Adjoining table seemed to experience tough fatty beef, which nearly put me off. My sirloun was very good, needed a steak knife, but good flavour. Excellent accompanying veg. A very nice meal. Very ably attended by Rona.Nice wine (Mr Goose shiraz)Yum apple and cinnamon crumble. Will return.Returned a week later! Feb 2023Busier this week, so much so they had run out of roasts even though we arrived before our booking at 2. 30pm.Very apologetically, Andrew the manager (assisted by Paige, waitress) enquired and sent us to sister pub, the Bell and Crown with generous offer. The carvery (table served) there was of very, very good. Well presented with separate veg. A sports bar (with three tvs showing football, faux open/gas pit fire would not have been our normal choice). The roast beef and veg was very good. A very good standard meal in sport bar setting. Beer was good. Will return to the Pheasant out of choice for nice pub dining food and wine atmosphere. Andrew's response to us gives me confidence that they will get the numbers and their popularity right. Will return, soon

Superb venison cassoulet and homemade sticky toffee pudding, real fire, dog-friendly and attentive, friendly staff. Inexpensive considering the quality. I wish I’d discovered The Pheasant years ago!

Cosy pub in the centre of town. Amazing pie (steak & ale) and brownie with ice cream.Quite a few options on the menu, including soup, sausage and pie of the day.Salt Lane Car Park right next door for easy access.

Lovely old pub. Very pleasant staff. We went there for a meeting with the FHS which was held upstairs. It was a very good venue and the staff at the pub were very nice and helpful and very polite. It's great to be back there.

Had limited menu on our visit so ordered burgers with French fries when food came we got huge chunky chips which we didn't want, also burger was a bit pungent, it tasted over seasoned with something like garlic or onion salt... Not to my liking, pub was nice, wouldn't eat again.

Thoroughly recommend. Excellent menu with something for all tastes and appetites. Good quality ingredients, well cooked and well presented. We all chose different things from the menu and every dish was superb. Friendly staff, good service and nice environment.

We went in for lunch as we're visiting Salisbury, this is a fantastic historic pub, the staff were really eager to serve and help. Beer good, food ok average pub grub.Unfortunately the downside was the cold, the fire was burning and the radiators on but there was a chill unless sat by the fire!! Shame as most of the pubs attributes are great it was also a very cold weekend.
