What a warm friendly pub this is. Amazing Sunday roast the best we have ever had, a must in the area and value for money. Staff are lovely. Nothing beats a good old Sunday Roast , we have booked to go again.

We went here on a charity fundraiser night, the hog roast was amazing as were the ciders(one was a bit strong ?) the music and atmosphere was great and the staff really attentive and interactive. I would highly recommend this pub.

We came here today for Sunday lunch, totally home cooked and the gravy was like my nan made, food is great value and our barmaid/waitress was great too

We came for the Sunday lunch, great value, and the gravy is definitely like my nan made so perfect, food was plentiful for the Sunday roast, our waitress/ bar maid was great.

Unfortunately had the worst experience here! Was away for our anniversary and this experience partly ruined our evening. The reception when walking in was hostile, no smile, no greeting. Then the food - WOW! What was served up was burnt (3x chicken wings and 3x garlic bread) when we asked about it the kitchen had no more to replace what can only be described as a pile of charcoal. So they offered onion rings and chips in replacement - 1 onion ring was again burnt and the chips were also horrible. We had nacho’s with the above sharer - when asked where the sour cream was the last came back and said we’d run out of that also! Absolute shambles to be honest. We was offered 20% off the food which we reluctantly paid.

Even though the landlady was working along on a weekday lunchtime, she went out of her way to help a person having issues, particularly when the pub next door with more staff didn’t want to get involved, speaks volumes about community spirit.
We've been going to the Castle Inn for nearly 20 years now. Through thick and thin, we've always loved the place and much of that comes down to the staff. Their latest addition, Katie is absolutely fab - she always greats us with a warm friendly welcome and seems to find the perfect balance between working hard / keeping on top of everything whilst being warm, friendly and welcoming. Keep up the great work Katie - the customers love you ?

Found this gem by accident but so glad we did. Had Sunday roasts, was just like home cooked. Absolutely lovely and decently priced. Really friendly staff in a beautiful old traditional pub and our nutty dog made very welcome! Highly recommend.
