Was very surprised. On arrival, the spotted dog does not look all that much, however the Sunday roast was really good. The staff were very attentive, and overall was a very good experience. Pleasantly surprised!

Lovely place to eat. Managed to get a table we didnt book. The staff friendly and helpful. The food was so tasty, I had scampi and my partner had a mixed grill so much of it. Will be back. We visited Spotted Dog today for the first time - to treat my Mum, with her grandchildren, for a birthday lunch. We had a wonderful few hours. The food was really excellent - the pie special perfect for a hot day, while the garlic prawns went down a treat, and the various puddings were delicious. And all the staff were just lovely, very customer oriented. All told, very good value. Highly recommended.

Had a lovely family lunch today 13th January 2024. The two grandchildren were catered for and looked after by friendly staff and management. The food was hot, tasty and well presented, all at a reasonable price. We were also here just before Christmas and that was a good experience too.
Fantastic as always.Staff always friendly, often knowing what were going to order, Food always hot and delicious, never disappoint. Always a friendly welcome by everyone. Ideal for small wakes,small parties always welcome

Me and my husband and two friends had a fantastic meal on Wednesday lunch time at The Spotted dog, the food was plentiful and the service was impeccable . I had the fillet steak and my husband had fish and chips, our friends both had the lovely pies. Thank you to the lovely Paula and Lisa who looked after us throughout. I want to add we also witnessed a lady who totally abused these two lovely girls on leaving the restaurant . I have never seen anything like it in my life, it was more like an assault. We all asked them why that happened and were told that they were not happy that they were not able to order sweets as the kitchen was now closed, apparently they arrived very late as well. We will continue to come to the spotted dog . Well done to both girls for keeping their cool , I’ve got to say if someone abused me like that , I would not be happy

Went to lunch today to celebrate my late Son-in-Law’s life as it is the 4th anniversary of his death. Booked for 1.00pm but a friend was caught behind an accident on the A4 and did not arrive until approximately 1.45pm. We did keep the staff informed but at no time did they say that desserts had to be ordered before 2.30pm and that they closed at 3.00pm. Consequently when we finished our main courses and asked for the dessert menu we were told curtly that wasn’t possible as it was 2.40pm. Not at all customer orientated only staff orientated. Why did the staff not ask us during our main course what we might like? Were not offered a discount either. Will not visit again in a hurry. I am crying as I write this.

We as a family enjoy eating out and without a shadow of a doubt The Spotted Dog is our favourite local pub to eat at. The Sunday roast is superb and far exceeds other local premises. Plenty of food with no added extras! The roasts come with cheesy leeks which I wish I could replicate at home!! Consistently excellent!!

Wonderful food, staff and outside play area for the children. Booked a table for 9 the day before and was able to add 4 more people on the day of the booking. Super friendly and attentive staff. Food came all at the same time - hot and delicious! All the plates were cleared! Children ate ALL their lunch and had free ice cream after. We hardly saw the children as they were outside in the play area! Would highly recommend and will definately be going again soon!
