We went to the afternoon Rum tasting and rum making class on Sat 20th Jan 24. It was an amazing experience and tremendous value for money. We stayed for a couple of cocktails after which were delicious.The staff were so knowledgeable and also so friendly. They all seemed to love their jobs and were so attentive. Fantastic atmosphere in both the school and bar.I would highly recommend the Rum school and bar. Just make sure you leave the car at home! ?

Me and my partner travelled for the weekend to Try the rum making experience and we were blown away. The experience itself was laid back and friendly, informative, and you have all the freedom you'd want when it comes to the crafting.The bar itself is incredible too; we stayed for a couple of cocktails afterwards and everything was delicious, plus everyone we spoke to was so welcoming and clearly passionate about what they do - we loved it so much we came back for more the next day! And it has to be said it's all priced very reasonably, as we paid much more elsewhere for cocktails that were nowhere near as good elsewhere.One of the best hospitality experiences of any kind we've ever had - can't recommend it enough and we'll definitely be back again ourselves.

Very reasonable prices (2 for £12 cocktails in Dec!) and the staff were genuinely brilliant - best service we've had in Bristol. The bar is owned by the same company that makes DMF rum and the range available is incredible.

Fantastic experience and well worth the expense. Extremely good value for money, with copius opportunities to sample their rum and cocktails.Max, our host and Teacher for the day is a credit to the team, brand and company. He is extremely passionate, knowledgeable and unbelievably enthusiastic for the history, range of products and process of rum making by Dead Man's Fingers. If he continues working as hard as he did yesterday to make sure we had such a great, fun and entertaining experience, he'll be CEO/Managing Director before he's 40! He was accompanied by Cally, who was as enthusiastic and hard working and made a great team!Be prepared to leave tipsy and hooked on distillation. I'm sure we'll return as we will soon have drunk our bottle we made.If you do decide to do the school, you'll leave with a breadth of knowledge regarding rum distallation, a bottle of your rum, including a label with your chosen name. I suggest you think of something unique, fun and memorable as they're all read out. The whole group were friendly and at times it genuinely felt like we were back at school in the science class but with alcohol on the desk!!Keep up the good work team BBRD and we'll be back next year!!

The actual rum experience I completed was amazing unfortunately the lack of communication from the venue is awful.I originally booked this as a gift and it took me and my dad ages to get it sorted as they are terrible at replying to emails.After we did the experience I bought another rum bottle from the venue (during the experience you note down the ingredients you used and they can make bottles using your recipe in the future).I paid 40 pound for this and was told it would be mailed to me.I completed the experience on the 16th of July.Now 2 months later nearly I have not received my paid for bottle of rum or so much as an email.Even though I have now emailed them twice and left two voicemails.Be warned if you choose to buy something make sure you receive it on the day they are impossible to contact unless you do!

Distilled my own rum lastnight as an early birthday treat.. what an amazing experience and evening Jim and Max provided for us all!!After going to the Rum and Crab Shack in St. Ives, where it was founded...it was interesting to learn that it is actually all distilled here, in Bristol!.... I'm not opening my rum until at leat 6 weeks so the secondary and tertiary flavours can settle down and my primary banana flavour can come through ?Can't wait to taste it!Definitely worth visiting if you like Dead Mans Fingers Rum, it is by far the best tasting experience I have ever had!

It just so happened that me and the misses were the only 2 booked on the school on the day we came and… in all honesty it was the best experience we could of asked for.As huge rum lovers getting the opportunity to ask all the questions we wanted and be afforded the opportunity to try the rums available it was brilliant to be able to do this without feeling like we were holding anyone up. Afterwards we enjoyed several cocktails in the bar and we bought some merchandise afterwards. Even though it was the general manager that looked after us for the duration of our rum making experience the staff at the distillery whilst having our cocktails were excellent!Thanks for having us! Jim and the team down here are excellent! Super friendly and truly down to earth. Some of the top lads around! The place is incredible, a true hidden gem, and an absolute must visit if you’re in the area for a drink! Ask about the Rum school too, the facilities for this is ace too!
