Went on a Sunday afternoon, restaurant was half empty but still took 30 minutes to get a drink. Food was ok but overpriced, expected so much from this place considering the reviews but left disappointed. £105 for a meal I would have said was worth £60. Service was chaotic, at least 4 dishes not available. Not a good experience. Pork belly is literally the size of a postage stamp, Charged £5.50 for one extra scallop. I hate to leave bad reviews and love to support local businesses, maybe it was just an off day? Won't eat there again though.

Absolutely wonderful dining experience, we will be coming back for as long as they'll have us ?.Went for our anniversary and had a little card waiting for us on the table - which was a really nice touch. We were sat by the kitchen so the other half was enamoured by the open kitchen. The girls serving were wonderfully attentive, more than happy to explain the experience (tapas style). We ordered 4 dishes, 2 sides and they were really accommodating, and we got a dish or two every 15 minutes or so, so we were never drooling for long ?.The kitchen was very calm and relaxed (the other half says the chef seemed to have a genuine passion for the food; and that came through). Highest compliments to the chef.We got to the end of the meal and were satisfyingly full and content. Yet still we were tempted to try just a few more bits! We have every excuse to go out of our way to come back.

The food is simply amazing, one of my favorite restaurants in Bristol! However if you want to organize a dinner for over 8 people (higher number than the online system) the customer service it is just dreadful... Called a first time, told me to send an email with my request, I've waited 4 days without a reply and decided to call again and told me the easiest way is to do it online, well thank you! If I book for 8 people at 20:00, I dont know if you still have space for another 4 people for example, you need to tell me from your system, how many people have been booked for 20:00 already. Well, seems they are just too busy and don't care, it's a shame... This does not happen on another restaurants...

Great food but need to get some organisation in the kitchen so dishes are not delivered so far apart

I read a lot about this restaurant because I had an event to celebrate and also I love fish. This restaurant is way too expensive for the food they serve. No ambience, uncomfortable seats, we knew that the place was small, but we were confident about the quality of the food. Even though the service is excellent, the waitresses did her best to let us know how it worked best with the courses and how to order. Unfortunately it didn't meet our expectations, but it wasn't because I was fussy, the place is expensive, the food comes in ridiculously small portions and awfully presented. With the latter I am referring to the monkfish that we got in a plate for two, little consisted of two pieces of the fish to share with the other person, floating in a bed of finely smashed peas (reminding of vomit) . We followed the menu, and the menu was absolutely exorbitant and we were still very hungry. I am not a big eater and I normally have small portions, but this was too little for me, too. We went back home and we cooked a meal. I was so sad about it, because it was a special occasion and it was completely spoiled by the wrong choice of the restaurant. If you fancy trying, get ready to order many things to get a decent meal but remember that it comes with a significant bill.

We went there for a birthday dinner . The seafood are really good I like the lobster and the scallops and mussels the most.

Visited the lazy lobster and from the beginning to end we had excellent service. The food is delicious especially the octopus, if you’ve got a sweet tooth try the chocolate marble dessert.I will definitely be coming back.

Excellent food and service, seating is a bit uncomfortable as it is mostly bars so bear in mind if your back is bad! There isn't a HUGE selection but that is really good since it means no matter what you choose, it's good.Service is friendly and helpful in selection of stuff.

From the moment I stepped into the Lazy Lobster, nestled in the heart of Chew Magna, it was clear that this was not just another dining venue but a destination for those in pursuit of a unique culinary experience. The restaurant, with its tapas-style approach to dining, offers an array of dishes that are as much a feast for the eyes as they are for the palate. Watching the chef meticulously prepare each dish added a layer of anticipation and charm, making the wait an integral part of the experience. This isn't about opting for tapas; it's the delightful way food is served here, fresh and full of flavour. The food is exceptional, each dish a testament to the quality and freshness of the ingredients. The Lazy Lobster's menu, though focused on fish, brings together combinations that might seem unconventional but harmonize beautifully on the plate. As a self-proclaimed foodie, I was thoroughly impressed by the creativity and execution of each course.Service at the Lazy Lobster is as remarkable as its cuisine. The staff are not just friendly but genuinely passionate about their offerings. They're eager to explain the dishes, share recommendations, and ensure that every guest's dining experience is nothing short of spectacular. Their enthusiasm is infectious, making every moment in the restaurant feel special. The atmosphere of the restaurant is equally commendable. Despite its modest size, the space is alive with energy and positive accolades from fellow diners. It's a place where the communal joy of discovering great food creates a vibrant, welcoming environment.Given the restaurant's popularity and limited seating, I would always recommend pre-booking to secure a spot. It's a testament to the Lazy Lobster's allure that it's worth the travel, drawing in food enthusiasts from afar in search of culinary excellence. In conclusion, the Lazy Lobster stands out as a must-visit destination in Chew Magna for anyone looking for an extraordinary dining experience. Whether it's for a special occasion or a culinary adventure, this establishment promises an unforgettable journey of taste. The combination of excellent food, impeccable service, and a lively atmosphere ensures that the Lazy Lobster remains at the top of my list for dining destinations.
