What a fabulous place! We had 21st birthday celebrations here, and what a night. The food and service were both excellent (we did the wine pairing). Every course was so tasty and fresh. Highly recommend.

Excellent meal. Really good. But like others have said, the service needs to get better and the toilets being a walk away outside is an issue in the rain. However, easy fixes and I expect a Michelin star at some point soon….

We recently had a meal at Tare Bistro and it was one of the best meals we've had in a while. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was just to our taste. Sitting at the counter and watching the chefs work their magic was also another extra treat. We also ate at the main restaurant earlier in the year which was also a knockout. Highly recommend both restaurants to anyone looking for a good spot in Bristol.

We visited with high expectations and were certainly not disappointed. Every course was cleverly crafted to deliver a flavour platform which carried on delivering. We had very attentive service and spoke at length on our thoughts on menu (I am now a lamb convert!) thank you to the whole team for a truly memorable experience

Superb and interesting food with knowledgeable and attentive service. One of us did the wine pairing that was also excellent.

This was our third visit to TARE and it simply gets better and better. Every dish was just "melt in the mouth". TARE manages to produce beautifully presented plates with outstanding flavours, whilst not being pretentious. The atmosphere is perfect, there are about 20 covers and everyone sits down together. You are all eating the same course at the same time. It means that there are no comings and goings - it lends itself to a seamless service. It makes you feel part of the room rather than two people sitting in isolation. The TARE team are so friendly and knowledgeable about the food and wine. We chose to have a very nice bottle of red wine rather than the wine flight. A great touch is the addition of three little "snacks" with sourdough bread (and butter to die for!) as a starter and they are delicious. Save some of the bread for mopping up the delicious sauces to come! It is not a cheap meal, it is a treat, however, in my opinion it is worth every penny. Another nice touch is there is no service charge added, you are free to add an amount of your choosing. We do not live in Bristol, we do visit regularly and we do like to seek out great food. We have found a few very special places that we return to as much as possible. TARE is one of these and we are already looking forward to December when we return! If you love good quality food, cooked and presented with love, skill and flare, this is the place for you.

Easily our favourite restaurant in Bristol. Standard of food is always so high and the wine pairings have introduced us to so many excellent new wineries. Super warm service, we will be back!Dietary restrictions: Manager mailed us ahead to check dietaries and all sorted perfectly on the day.

We loved came here for our anniversary weekend and it was excellent. The restaurant works in two shifts, and everyone gets the same food, with the exception of dietary requirements. We arrived early - 15mins - and were told the table wasn’t ready yet. The waiter asked us our names and wished us happy anniversary. He was very apologetic and very welcoming. We came back 15mins later and we’re seated. The food was great. Started with some warm break, then some chef snacks. We then went into the course they were all very good, great balance and depth. We both loved the lamb and scallops, but they stood out from the other excellent dishes. The puddings we’re sweet enough for my wife but we’re very good. We were given a small celebration drink at the end, and overall thought it was excellent. We will be back again and def have one of the places the sample in Bristol. Highly recommend to anyone wanting high-end, dinning and a simple setting.

What can I say about TARE? Having just got back to a trip to Portugal where we had had a dinner at a Michelin 2 star restaurant, TARE had a lot to live up to. The first indication that we were in for a treat was the bread and snacks at the very start of the menu. These were absolutely amazing. The rest of the menu hit this high standard with every dish. I don’t think I have ever had a scallop so perfectly prepared, and how they managed to deliver shiitake mushrooms with all the flavour but that texture is beyond me. The service was friendly and precise. Casual, but not too casual, and above all welcoming. The wine parings were unusual, but perfect. The eclectic selection of wines was very interesting, but always hit the mark. However, they say that you can only judge a restaurant by its consistency. That just means that I’m going to have to go again. Just to double check. And that will be a very welcome visit. Michelin, if you read review, check this place out

By far the best restaurant I have ever visited. I still talk about it now. I think I may have recommended this place to everyone I know. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, you feel like they've invited you to a dinner party. The food, of course, is excellent. The evening was a wonderful experience, I will definitely visit again when I'm in Bristol!

Totally amazing and completeley unique. Set in a shipping container, very intermit dining venue. Very good highlights on produce, flavors are spectacular, wine flight is defo worth a try. A must visit for Bristol foodies. 10/10 Davey, the sommelier is truly a fountain of knowledge. Wonderful evening had by all.

Managed to get a last minute booking for a Saturday 8.30pm sitting. The food was excellent and the wine pairings worked very well even though the wines wouldn't normally be what we would choose. Service was also excellent, attentive, prompt, knowledgeable and friendly. Some things to note however: 1. The actual unit is on the first floor of the run of containers, not at ground level (in case you can't initially find it like us!) 2. The toilets are round the back of the containers, the area is dimly lit and access is by keycode. It's difficult to see the keypad and even with the correct combination I couldn't get the door to open but someone came out so I could enter. It was the end of the evening and the toilets were messy, dirty and without toilet paper. 3. The 4th review below this shows a seven course menu. We had exactly the same but now without the aubergine course but the price remained the same. Apparently the menu changes seasonally and even a course may change week to week depending what's in season so we look forward to returning and sampling another delicious tasting menu!

What a great experience! Our Tare visit was a special occasion, we wouldn't usually spend this amount on a normal meal out but I'm so glad we did! The food was delicious, the presentation was so beautiful it made us squeal every time a course came out and each time, we were given a quick summary of what we were eating. Normally I'd find this a bit over the top but it was a perfect balance. We tried quite a lot we wouldn't normally order and each one was both delicate but full of flavour. The photos speak for themselves. Tare is casual but detailed. Precise yet relaxed. We will DEFINITELY be back!

Had an excellent overall experience at Tare. Food was so delicious and cleverly done, especially the cucumber sorbet. Service I couldn't fault, very attentive. Always enjoy an evening at Cargo and sitting outside the restaurant was very pleasant. Have already recommended to friends.
