Nice pub that I go to quite regularly. I would give it 5 stars, but they have this silly system where absolutely all of their tables can be reserved online. So, there's never anywhere to sit. You shouldn't allow tables to be reserved, unless they've also pre-ordered food. It's crazy to walk into a pub, and literally every table has a little sign on it saying "reserved"

Table of 12 for Christmas dinner tables split up & right next to front door. No table service & food cold. Disappointing.

Really delicious home cooked food. Service was quick and atmosphere relaxed. Quiet enough to hold conversations but with gentle background music to add atmosphere. Dark interior lit by candles to add to the cosy feel of the place. Would definitely recommend eating here

Just had a beautifully tasty lunch… the roast beef sandwich! A very special sandwich with succulent meat on sour dough toast with a salad and parsnip chips! Oh and a dipping gravy. So tasty with a couple of pints ! Perfect.

A very pleasant pub with excellent food. The building is a few hundred years old, and the decor is a mix of old and new, but it works really well. There are a few rooms on different levels, but the bottom floor is accessible by wheelchair or pushchair. There's a separate bar on the ground floor.\\nI only popped in for a pint and chips (delicious!), but I'll definitely return.

Lovely old world heavily wooded structures and decor……feels small, cramped and very atmospheric! Very busy so service was pretty slow, but very polite and friendly! Food was very good and okay prices. Would recommend…..

This is a really great pub, staff are lovely and we have often been for drinks. This time I ordered food. The fish and chips were delicious but the portion size was shocking. The fish was so tiny and mostly tail end so just crispy batter. Everyone's portion of food was child size really. For £14.95 I would expect an adult sized portion. We wouldn't eat here again sadly, altho we will go for drinks as it's great in all other aspects.

Best pint of Guinness in bristol, lovely cosy pub with modern antique interior. Nice selection of beers too.

We had the pleasure of dining at Christmas Steps and tried their Sunday Roast that was fire! The place had a warm and distinctive ambiance and staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming. Highly recommended

Very great restaurant / pub with good selection of local beers. The place was very crowded on Saturday evening, but with great atmosphere.

Lovely pub, somehow hitting the right balance of bright and clean, cosy and welcoming, in a tourist hot spot. Great beer selection, mostly local including two alcohol free, Bristol based brews!

Good pub in a great old building with a decent range of beers. Not tried the food here but always looks busy in the restaurant area. In the winter, on a cold and bleak day, they'll light the log burner and you can keep yourself toasty warm as you enjoy a great beer. What's not too like?

Lovely pub right in the middle of Bristol. We went just before December and they already had some lovely Christmas decorations on, so they were true to their name.\\nWe could easily book a table and the service was great. Lovely selection of drinks and food.\\nDefinitely would recommend for anyone looking to have a few in a cozy pub.

We went here for our work Christmas meal, and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious and very flavoursome. The atmosphere was very festive. The staff were fantastic and never made us feel rushed.

I visited Bristol in September 2022 and enjoyed their Sunday roast. There is a vegan option, and you must include Yorkshire pudding! Great food and friendly staff.
