Beautiful place, really great

Hidden gem for anyone needing a place to work away from home. WiFi is excellent and the staff relaxed and friendly (unlike the rather uptight and snooty Arnolfini). Made working away from home a breeze.

The Polish manager likes to break the law and publicly fire employees and humiliating them in front of other staff and customers. Also expected him to come in while being sick around the food because it’s “company expectation “. If you care about your health and also just general kindness of employees that serve you don’t bother with the grain house. Embarrassing for customers and the staff. Again I only know this because she broke the law and publicly fired someone for refusing to stay on in the kitchen after vomiting. Also he was in the right to refuse to come in on those days he was sick because surprise, surprise, he was on a 0 hour contractShame on you lady.

Had a toasties meal deal - tuna melt, salad and hot chocolate. Overall £8 ( extra cream)The tuna melt was very good - it was creamy and was well made and toasted nicely. Really enjoyed it. The salad was very fresh, with vinegarette, and was tasty. The hot chocolate was warm, creamy and very generously proportioned. Overall I'd say 10/10 for a meal deal. The service was a bit slow though - we were a group of five and by the time the last order came through, I had finished my drink and food, so it would be better if this was worked on. Great and polite service otherwise! The patrons were very patient with us and engaging.

This Youth Hostel Association cafe can be found right on Bristol Harbourside. It's a great place to have a coffee or meal and all at very reasonable prices.

Needed a coffee and a sit-down late in the evening. A nice man working there called Sol obliged me, nice to talk to and helpful.

Waited 25 mins for Nachos. When I spoke to the manager it appears they'd been forgotten. He chased the kitchen up, but didn't offer any apology. When they arrived, they were disappointing; could have got better in Wetherspoons.

Lovely place to go for a hot chocolate during a cold winter's day

While the surroundings, cake and coffee were fine, the service was awful. How difficult can 2 espressos, an American and 2 slices of cake be? The waitress had to confirm what we ordered 3 times, we chose to go to the upstairs gallery but couldn't get up there without the waitress unlocking the door. The waitress brought our coffee up but forgot the cake. After a long wait and no cake, I had to go down to ask where the cake was. I was told impatiently that both waitresses were busy and they would bring it up. Couldn't get upstairs again so the waitress had to unlock the door again. Eventually, 3 slices of cake appeared, we ordered 2 and by this time, drinks were cold. We complained, no apologies, apparently it was our fault, not theirs. The waitress said she would get the manager. We're left waiting for 5 minutes, no forks for the cake! Waitress appears, manager is too busy. We ask for forks, which are on the tray in the waitresses hand. She lowers the tray for us to take the forks, again no apology. The worse thing was the waitresses attitude like we were a major inconvenience to her. We didn't bother to queue for a refund on the extra cake we didn't order. It would have taken too long and no doubt caused more confusion!

We only popped in for tea and cake but it did the job.
