Great little pub in Hotwells. Offers a different experience to the other pubs in that area. Bar staff are great, very friendly and welcoming and like to have a chat with the locals. Has some decent beers on draught. It's reasonably priced as well.

Great pub.

This is the kind of pub I wish I could make my local, but it's worth the schlep over from where I live. No music to shout over, no screens showing today's round of death and destruction (or worse, the football), a cosy coal fire, real ales and proper bar food -- pasties and barms. I like the mismatched furniture too. There are so few proper boozers like this any more. Now, if you just could open a sister pub on the same lines in Knowle, that'd be great. Any time in 2024 would be fine, thanks.

Best pint of Guinness I've had in Bristol and the pork pies with proper English mustard are very much appreciated. No nonsense and well priced!

Proper boozer with ale on tip top form. And a robust cheese and onion sandwich does not go unnoticed. It’s the ideal fortification for more ale.
