Went for a birthday treat.....and it was just that! Food was absolutely delicious, spiced and seasoned to perfection ?Dishes were well presented. Service was excellent and they couldn’t do enough for you. And the amaretto sour cocktails were to die for! Had white chocolate mint leafs which were a refreshing treat!

An amazing restaurant set in a beautiful part of the city of Bristol. The entrance foyer was beautiful and my partner and I were greeted by the manager and owner Luthfer. A nice touch. We had our coats taken and we were escorted to our seats. The restaurant had great decor and was eye catching with a unique but cosy interior. I ordered a lamb starter, which was very tasty, well presented and moreish. This was after poppadoms and dips! For my main course i has lamb Kadai, it was stunning and so filling. I thoroughly enjoyed it, it went down a treat with a peshwari Naan and coconut rice. Couldn’t fault it at all, the service was top notch and the staff were on hand to keep our drinks topped up. This included the water that was on our table!I thought the price was very reasonable and the staff were brilliant throughout. Couldn’t recommend this place enough!

I am a very fussy eater and the menu overwhelmed me at the start, but the waiters were really great in the fact they talked through the menu with me and gave suggestions. The food was INCREDIBLE. I don’t eat fish and the monkfish starter I tried was 10/10. Lamb chops also amazing. I then had one of the lamb dishes for the main and the meat was just incredible. Honestly one of the tastiest meals I’ve had in a long time. Very special and excellent service.

Amazing night out. We were a big party and did pre order our meals, so everything was delivered to us at the table with no hassle whatsoever. Staff were super friendly and the food is just incredible. Can't wait to eat here again!

Update: shortly after my visit I tested positive for COVID and have lost all sense of taste. My review previously complained about bland food, though I've now removed these parts. It would be unfair to review them based on this visit, so I've also changed the rating to reflect my previous visits, which were excellent._______________I've been to the Mint Room twice before and absolutely loved it each time. I was excited to go again and got the tasting menu.To help describe what you can expect, I've posted photos of the menu and the food and will describe each. The samosa felt a little pretentious, as it didn't benefit from being chopped up. My poori ball had a hole in the bottom so couldn't hold liquid. The next course was tomato, paneer and olives. The olives were really good!We then had a substantial rice pancake. They didn't have rabbit so they gave us lamb instead. We had a problem with the fish course. We were told there was no monkfish, so we could choose between cod and salmon. We both chose salmon though after a couple of mixups, and announcing the dish as salmon, we were given cod.The palette cleanser was a small mellon and mint ice lolly with a berry sauce. This was a rare treat and was great. It took about 3 hours to get to this point of the meal. The portions so far had been quite small and we were a little worried we'd leave hungry. However, the main came with big, chunky sides that made up perhaps 60% of the overall meal. The main was lamb. Unfortunately it wasn't good as much of it was too tough to cut or eat. The menu promised a selection of Indian breads, which turned out to be just a naan cut into 4.I quite liked the dessert. We left with their signature chocolate covered mint leaf.

We booked for the New Year's Eve tasting menu, which was really lovely, beautifully prepared and presented, rich in flavours and with incredibly clever and inspired combinations. Loved it.Staff were attentive and charming and worked their socks off on what was a really busy night.Thank you to everyone at The Mint Room (Bristol) for a truly memorable and delightful evening.

This isn’t everyday Anglo Indian food. However, though the dishes on offer are different, the quality is actually indifferent. For £90 a head including drinks we could have had much better Indian food elsewhere or gone to a proper restaurant. Putting a couple of bhajis on a plate with a z shaped squiggle of sauce in no way elevates their taste. Likewise drowning some tender lamb chunks in a gravy of puréed frozen spinach hardly counts as much of a “ghost”. The wait between courses was excessive. I made more of an effort with the waiting staff than they did with me. The coat taker was sullen and passive. Front of house poor, back of house poor and all too expensive.

Came to the Mint Room for New Year Eve expecting high quality ingredients and cooking. It was a tasting menu and we were very much looking forward to it. The lamb for the main course could not be cut with a knife or chewed as it was so tough. We left it all. We ate the nan, rice with some of the sauce. When the plates were being taken away I pointed out that we were not able to eat any of the meat. The waitress said she would inform her manager who came and asked us if we would like it to be replaced. We had eaten the rice, nan and some sauce so we said no thank you as a result. He said he would make an adjustment to the bill. When we asked for the bill he said he had taken 20% off. However he had added a 12.5% service charge on the bill which not acceptable when you have been served a main where the meat is completely inedible.

The food was fantastic but the service was incredibly slow considering there were only 3 tables in. We waited 40 minutes for the starters and another 40 minutes for main course. There were 4 of us but we were given 3 chocolate’s with the bill. When we asked for another chocolate the waiter aggressively poured the whole box of chocolates onto our table. Bizarre!

Absoulouly terrible We ordered a takeaway at mid day. The Mint room confirmed and took the payment. We then turned up at6;45 and were told no order and they cancelled the payment and did a 10 day refund. We then had to pay again and wait 40 mins for our order, yes they gave a free drink, but the food was rushed and spices did not cook through. In simple terms, forget takeaway here.
