A big shout out to Ollie who has been a fantastic help compared to the other people I emailed and spoke to. Thank you for explaining everything, being patient with my questions and being knowledgeable.

Appalling organisation that put my company through a Kafque-esque nightmare for months when I dared to put in writing that I had decided to leave after 10 years due to their deteriorating stadards of service. Like many corporate charities before them, Soil Association appear to have lost sight of their mandate and remit to serve their members and now appear to place greater onus on maximisaing income ad dominating their sector at all costs.

I have tried to get an FSC certification quote but just faced with continual poor customer service and no replies ..Because I believe very strongly in organics this is a major disappointment to me

Too much focus on the charity side and not enough on its core activity which is certification.

An utterly disgraceful organisation that claims to protect the welfare of animals, failing yet again to suspend a farm with clear proof of animal cruelty, not to be trusted where organic farms are concerned, do your research, even though the soil association turn a blind eye.

The Soil Association is a national organisation but its headquarters is in Bristol - right at the end of the M32 before the Sir James Barton underpass. It is one of those worthy organisations which really does have the power to make the difference, particularly in the West Country. It looks at how to boost organic farming, monitoring land pollution and supporting sustainable living. I'd love to work for these guys but they must be good employers as vacancies rarely come up. They are however, probably best known for the big Soil Association Organic Food Fair which takes place in Bristol every year. The harbourside and Millennium square are filled with the most scrumptious food and drink for you to try and buy and none of this would be possible if it was not for the Soil Association. You may also recognise their symbol as it appears on a lot of food packaging nowadays.
