I had a Christmas party on the 16th December. On arrival we had a warm greeting from Philly who showed us to our table. Once seated Philly introduced us to Ollie who was looking us. He took our drinks order and prior to us ordering our food he asked if anyone had any dietary requirements and allergies. Our food arrived and it was fantastic. The turkey dish that a few of us had was so succulent and tender. Philly, Rob and Ollie made us so welcome I will definitely be back again

We really enjoyed our meal - good food and service was attentive without being overpowering. Pork belly was a favourite!

Went to The Swan for dinner with family, the food was amazing alongside a welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff.

Service was very slow indeed. And my food was poorly prepared. Shame because it is usually a good

The service was absolutely appalling. We've never experienced anything quite like it. We had a party of 8 and we ordered drinks, and only one of the drinks arrived and 10 or 15 minutes later, my husband had to go to the bar to ask where the other drinks were. We were told "the bar is very busy"! That's not our problem, you should have enough staff available on a Christmas Eve to allow for a busy bar. We paid £400 for our meal and we definitely won't be coming here again. Not only were the drinks extremely slow, none of our dishes were delivered at the same time. For both starters and main course, they often arrived individually or maybe 2 at a time – often with 10-15 minutes in between. We never all had food arrive at the same time and we were waiting ages before we were able to start our meal altogether. At the end of the evening, we ordered 3 desserts with custard and the custard was completely forgotten. When it did come, 3 pots of custard arrived on somebody else's dessert plate, 10 minutes after the other desserts had arrived, with no attempt at trying to find the right owners for the custard. They also completely forgot my husband's order for a Baileys liqueur. It was a complete shambles from start to finish.

We are local and Went for lunch to meet old friends we haven’t seen for a long time. I have to say the prices of the food is priced well above its standard. I had the burger and patty was so hard compressed beyond measure and returned it. Its replacement was exactly the same. I have to say for basically £20 it was completely off the mark when in comparison to a burger at a bespoke steak house for the same money is worlds apart! I wouldn’t have complain if it was £10 with a drink included but this really needs to be revisited. We informed the staff this should be feed back to management where I was inform ‘this has nothing to do with me’ and I said I know that’s why I’m saying please pass it on.Kid-friendliness: Absolutely not! If you have a pram or wheelchair it’s impossible position of pillars and tables make it impossible to move or access either sides of the bar

Went for a Christmas Eve meal with my elderly mum. Welcome was nice, table a bit small. I odered the duo beef roast.. mum had cod and chips, desert the glorious berry pavlova. Mum enjoyed her neal, but my beef was very stringy with more fat and gristle than meat.. so that was disappointing. Served by Xavi, very sweet and attentive.

Last frequented the Swan over 40 years ago, with my girlfriend, when it was a bikers pub. Came back today, with my now wife, for lunch. To say it has changed is an understatement. Tastefully decorated, with several different dining areas. We had a cosy little table by the window upstairs. Both main and desert were good and service was friendly and timely. Toilets could do with a bit of a spruce up. Still, better than they were forty years ago! Nice to revisit, will no doubt return.

Popped into the Swan for a couple of drinks and a light lunch while out walking the dogs. It wasn’t busy with quite a few empty tables in the bar area but mostly reserved. Found the only unreserved table sat down with drinks browsing the menu when a staff member came over and told us we had 5-10 minutes as she had just reserved the table! We obviously remonstrated and she reluctantly backed down but obviously put a downer on what should have been a happy pre Christmas get together. For a pub with a restaurant I’d like to know what the obsession is with reserving all your tables in the bar area? What about the walk in customers who just fancy popping in on the spur of the moment? As for trying to kick us off our table with no warning is absolutely disgraceful behaviour. We certainly won’t be going back to the Swan in a hurry!

Had the lovely Festive Menu for dinner with family. Sally is a treasure, exceptional service! Even gave us a tonic water tasting to help us choose which one we wanted paired with our gin. The meal itself was excellent. The table by the window was warm and cosy. All in all very happy we choose The Swan. Thank you.

Food was not good. The crab linguine was basically just spicy pasta with tomatoes. It had one prawn and barely any crab. The chorizo was burnt on one side and mushy on the other. I couldn’t eat

This feels like a proper old pub with good service and lovely cosy atmosphere. Great menu, ample parking in back, I always come here when I have a gathering of 4+ and it makes a great place to catch up and enjoy a cosy meal.
