A quaint, cosy pub in a small village about 15 miles from Oxford. A very warm welcome, snug bar and excellent accommodation make it an ideal place to stay. Rooms provide everything you need, well appointed bathroom, good shower, tea and coffee facilities plus bottled water. A first class breakfast. There's also a restaurant in the pub. Highly recommended, a special mention for Eleanor but all the staff are friendly and helpful.

Dog friendly in the bar area, great but v limited number of tables, so if visiting with a dog book in advance. Terrific Sunday lunch, lots of options, v freindly team. We really enjoyed our visit, Although might be nice to visit without the dog next time.

Atmospheric historic thatched country pub with excellent well thought out bed and breakfast rooms. Yummy breakfasts with plenty of choice, friendly young professional staff, pub has a comfortable cosy and well decorated bar restaurant, lovely gardens with large play area. Great quality and competitively priced. We stayed for a local event, but hope to return.

Everything you could want from a B&B. The room was spotless. The service was great. I particularly liked it that as we were shown to our room a jug of milk was brought at the same time and put in the mini fridge in the room. No need for those horrible capsules of UHT milk!!The full english breakfast was really top quality, as was the service. Would not hesitate to return.Noteworthy details: There's an excellent selection of well kept real ales in the bar!

Good breakfast and service. Very clean bedroom but a small double with limited headroom. Tiny tv but not a big issue. Great shower but again limited space. Good post Christmas price.

Thank you so much to Steph and her team and to everyone in the kitchen for the sublime food and wonderful service we received this week at our annual Christmas meal. We really couldn't fault a thing and would definitely recommend you to others. We hope you all have a Happy and restful Christmas and look forward to visiting you again in the future. We had a super Christmas lunch at the Clifden Arms. Lovely ambiance, nice restaurant and really good food. We opted for the two course menu and the main course portions were generous. No need for a pudding. The staff were friendly and attentive.

Absolutely dreadful from beginning to end. Six of us including two children, were pressed together around a table between two other tables. A horrible fabric on the table. The first course of food, mushrooms cold; the main course, a plate overloaded with dreadful large Yorkshire pudding with a very fatty piece of pork. We didn't stay for dessert couldn't bear what might be presented. Human hair found in a drink. Sorry but need to be honest.
