We decided to pop in for a Sunday roast. There weren't any signs mentioning anything about the seating/ordering and the whole place seemed very unorganised. We weren't approached at the door, did not know how ordering works, up until we spent 15 minutes sitting at the table to be told we should've booked. We weren't aware that we had to prebook and the server who informed us about that was very rude while conveying this to us.Luckily, we still got a table. The Sunday roast was fine, but it was very bland and the Yorkshire pudding was more of an omlette than a Yorkshire pudding. The food was okay but definitely not worth going back for. However, the younger male waiter who brought us the food was very friendly and nice.Food & drinks: Edible

Great service and roasts - the Yorkshire puddings were one of the best we've had. Recommended!

Rarely ever write reviews and only doing so because the lady that served us tonight could not have been more helpful, the service was excellent. Thank you.

We want to thank all the staff for making our Sunday dinner experience so much easier for us. Our mum has dementia, being so young most people don’t assume she is ill with it, and people can often find her behaviour offensive and it can be difficult to even go out for dinner. However the staff today helped make our experience so easy and they couldn’t do enough. We want to give a special mention to Jack, his kindness and friendly nature with our mum gave us so much support and enabled us to enjoy a meal out all together.Thank you Jack.

Came today for Sunday lunch after being recommended by friends. Really wish we had gone elsewhere. Tables are crammed in, uncomfortable and small. Service was poor. We had to flag down a staff member to order drinks and then flag another down 15 minutes later to order food. No one came and checked if our food was ok. It wasn't. The meat was dry, over cooked and flavourless. The roast potatoes were old tasting. Yorkshire pudding was a thick, doughy pancake. Veg was hard Gravy mediocre Cauliflower cheese had just had some cheese waved at it! Everything was lukewarm and tasted like it had been cooked hours ago and left on a hot plate. We had planned to stay for pudding but didn't bother. Every table we saw had left lots of food. Unusual for a roast dinner!

Great place for Sunday roast and family get-togethers. We came here for a birthday get together and everybody cleared the plates with very fussy grandchildren. This was good to see been here a few times and it never disappoints book a table early. It’s gets very busy and when you see the food and taste it you can understand why. I do feel it’s somewhat understaffed at busy times, but that’s the nature of a country pub slow pace. The outside space, has grown since our last visit and very child and dog friendly. There were 12 of us for Sunday roast and the food came out hot and on time we will return.

Beautifully succulent and tender burger, soft bun with perfectly cooked chips. The beer flows (Camden pale on draught) and the service is top notch! The pub is dog friendly and has a really good atmosphere inside. There is a terrace with private bench seating and garden seating close to a children’s play area. Perfect for the summer, delightful for the winter it’s perfect all year arround! Lauren (the chef) and the bar staff have out done themselves. We will return, many times.

We booked a table for the first time here for six adults, two kids and a high chair, on a busy bank holiday Sunday. After a quick change around of the tables by the helpful staff, we sat down and had drinks. We did wait a good while for our food, as it was very busy, but it was well worth the wait. Piping hot roast dinners, lots of meat, lots of gravy with each meal, plenty of veg, and the huge table share Yorkshire puddings were fab too. The food was great, the service was great, the staff were very helpful and extremely friendly. Kids area is secure, with enough to occupy them for a while. Would definately recommend for a family meal, and we will be visiting again
