We’ve been going to Voongs for years but recently the standard has slipped massively in food and service and yesterday especially. The restaurant wasn’t busy when we came in and through out our time there. We waited 25 minutes for small starters, another 30 minutes for duck with pancakes which was absolutely horrible. It was burnt, dry and had spiky bones in it, which luckily we noticed before taking a bite. We then waited another 45 to 50 minutes before our mains came out as this point we asked them to pack it as take-away. We should have checked the food before leaving as when we opened it today, it was massively over cooked, dry, and some of it was burnt. It’s what what you expect when you pay £150 for dinner.

Starters were nice although a long wait. They have an unfair rule on number of dishes! Whether you are a table of 8, as we were, or table of 2 you can order 6 dishes which have to include your rice or noodles. The portion that comes is only for one person so actually not enough for everyone to have a dish! Yes you can order more but not until you’ve finished those. But we ended up with a tablespoon of each dish. Also one of our group was vegetarian and really no choice for them. Wouldn’t go again.

I am not a fan of Chinese but definitely liked Voongs food. Ordered crispy duck, chicken curry, prawns and egg fried rice and it was delicious.

Great quality except for their insipid fried rice. Oh and where are your side dishes ? Mushrooms and gravy, nowhere.

The place opens quiye late but its ok. Iy started to get a bit crowded at somepoint during the night and noisy. Food takes around 10 mimutes to come by if you're buying six meals. I went on a sunday to get an all you can eat meal with my family. I would reccomened if you want to explore the food of other cultures.
