No nonsense spot for a family meal. White table cloths and a solid classic old timey British menu / dessert trolley, served by Italian suited and booted waiters. A “take your grandma” kindof

I will pre-empt this with I went to Biggles because of the great reviews I saw and I think it helps if you're a regular...Menu and atmosphere were transplanted out of the 80s and while my roast was good, my dining partner's food was average. We had the Sunday 3 course menu.Deep fried mushrooms were soggy and the prawn cocktail was okPork roast was good and they made allowances for my dairy intolerance, grilled salmon passableThen dessert trolley, only fruit for the dairy afflicted. And profiteroles for my partner, she enjoyed those. The service was mixed, care and attention from some of the staff, not from others, like not telling us the contents of the dessert trolley and just leaving silence for us to ask what each thing was. Which was done for others. Also, silver service standard from some staff, just tipping salvers onto your plate from others. Our coats were taken at the beginning but we had to find them on our way out.Interesting experience, I'm personally not going to return.

A great authentic restaurant- a throw back to the 1970s with lots of aviation memorabilia. We have been many times and it’s consistently excellent. The toasted bread and butter is the best!!! Fabulous service. If you want a minimalist slick modern restaurant with funky music this place is not for you.

Wonderful Sunday lunch, especially the roast beef and roast lamb. Very friendly and attentive waiters, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian, quite continental!

A very different but interesting establishment. A difficult place to locate in the dark without satnav but when you arrive you are well rewarded with a friendly greeting and good food in a convivial atmosphere. The menu choice is impressive and cannot fail to appeal so walk in, drive in, or even fly in, for a very jolly experience.

Nice to meet up again with former work colleagues there. Enjoyed the food very much and the lovely retro feel to Biggles.

I would like to thank Gustal and his team for the best Christmas lunch we’ve ever had. Service was impeccable, as was the food Everyone enjoyed, and we will definitely be returning.

A friend recommended Biggles to us. When I read the bad reviews about it I was concerned but we had other input which suggested it might be worth a try. So we went for Sunday lunch (Dec 10). It was very crowded and the staff managed to deliver the food with efficiency and friendliness. The set menu starters were okayish - we had the prawn cocktail and deep fried mushrooms - not exciting but okay. The Sunday roast was fine - great Yorkshire puddings and they gave us extra gravy when we asked for it. The puddings were a bit boring - I didn't like the tiramisu and my husband didn't like the trifle. The creme brulees were fine. It cost £165 for 4 people with a few drinks thrown in. I noted there were a lot of older people there, like us, who felt comfortable in the surroundings and with the old-fashioned choices on the menu. If you are in to more modern food and surroundings this is NOT the place for you. If not, it's a quirky destination - by Denham airport - where you can get a nice lunch.

The previous 2 reviews are spot on ….This restaurant was such a terrible disappointment , we took friends for a birthday celebration and on arrival it not only looked closed and unwelcoming, we were struck once inside just how old fashioned & antiquated it was , rather like a bygone era. The food which was a set menu was only ok nothing special , it was the style of service which was really poor , one could say the waiters positively ‘hovered ‘ over us rushing our menu choices …. What was worse was the feeling we should ‘eat up ‘so they could clear away, infact it was so uncomfortable once we had finished eating they made us feel they wanted us to leave ….so we did exactly that ! I don’t enjoy being told when & how I can eat bread or when asking for yet another salt cellar that didn’t work being told there was salt in it .Duhh ……. I’m not stupid ! We certainly won’t be bothering to return again .
