Last weekend was our third visit to The Mash Inn, and it just keeps on giving and surprising. The concept is sheer simplicity with one set menu, food foraged locally and in season, and a chef who I think should get a Michelin star. That’s not an exaggeration.Nick, Jolly and their fabulous team make you feel so very at home and nothing is too much bother. It’s fabulous cuisine but executed simply with the one set menu concept, but they do cater for allergies and intolerancesWe stayed overnight in the Inn, and if you’re not local, this is a must. Comfortable rooms with nice attention to detail. We took all four rooms in the Inn, and even the snug room whilst small was very acceptable, with a shower instead of a bath.Still smiling at the lovely weekend we had, complete with stunning country walks, breathtaking views, fabulous food and wine and all just over an hour from London. How lucky are we!Just book it. It won’t disappoint.

Agree with the previous reviews - what an exceptional experience! Staff were absolutely amazing and made great recommendations about beer/wine etc. Will definitely come back to celebrate another special occasion.

My wife and I went last night to celebrate my birthday. It was hands down the best experience we’ve had for a long time. Amazing food, amazing ambience and the staff were so attentive and helpful we couldn’t recommend them enough. Our favourite dishes - the smoked trout and the Welsh pork!

Just incredible, like staying and eating in a country house. One of the most amazing evenings I have ever had. The beds are simply divine and the food is another level

Great dinner even during covid era, outside seating under a huge tent with plenty of heaters.

We went for my birthday and Nick and the team, as usual, made us so welcome. The cocktails were memorably good, with home made fruit sirops. The tasting menu was fantastic...local Bix cheese and black truffle pizzetta was unctuous and delicious. The Duck breast was spectacular....although too rare from my wife....the staff noticed and the chef came to ask what she would like instead. So professional. The short rib they gave her was superb. A special and memorable birthday meal!

Tucked away in the Buckinghamshire countryside, it's well worth the trip. A delightful old pub offering fine dinning, with a warm welcome. A tempting taster menu followed a fine "old-fashioned" on the terrace overlooking the valley. Food was tasty and well presented, staff were friendly and relaxed, there is a distinct lack of any stuffing "dress for dinner" formality, which some may not appreciate, but I liked. Reasonably priced

A delicious visit to the Mash Inn, and living to its expectations. What makes this place unique is the freshness and quality of their ingredients as well as their cooking skills. The venue is lovely, inviting every guest to grab a drink at the "foyer" before making a way to the dinning area. All dinner guests are set to enjoy the experience at the same time which makes it more interesting. All dishes where cook to perfection but my reason for the 4 stars is that they could offer a wine pairing or be more proactive at recommending wines to go with your food. Thank you for the lovely experience!

Absolutely exceptional experience in every way. From the glorious view, to the delightful drinks menu. The food was absolutely out of this world and the service was incredible. Absolutely beautiful produce and flavour combinations all presented so appetisingly. Such a friendly, laid back atmosphere which is exactly what I want out of a longer dining experience. I can’t believe we lived so close to a gem of this calibre and only now discovered it!

Absolutely amazing. Spent a very enjoyable Saturday lunch time here today. The food is worthy of a Michelin star, the staff are very friendly. Not cheap but then you get what you pay for. Go on treat yourself.

Second visit to The Mash Inn and again we had an incredibly enjoyable meal and stay. The atmosphere is relaxed and you're made to feel very welcome as soon as you arrive. Best to arrive a little early to enjoy a drink in the bar or outside. There is an outside wood burner, which adds to the atmosphere. The food includes some great ingredients and combinations in a unfussy manner. We were very contented by the time pudding came. The local Eau de Vie is also a real treat. We will certainly be back.
