I’m not sure what happened last night, but when came in without a booking, we were turned away saying that the restaurant was fully booked. There were plenty of empty tables which we’d assumed were for incoming guests so left without a fuss.However, when we went online a couple of minutes later, we found that we could easily book a table for the current time (I went through the whole booking process and got a confirmation so definitely had space, but then I promptly cancelled as did not feel we’d be welcome there).I’m not sure why this excuse was given to us by the hostess but being untruthful is really poor form. I hope that their turning us away was nothing to do with any prejudice and was an excuse for some other reason.We ended up going to a lovely Turkish restaurant instead as did not feel welcome even if we were able to make a booking online.

Well a medium filet steak I asked for and a medium cooked steak is what i got. Only problem is it was cold. So naturally it went back. They left the wife's. So she was eating on her own. ( a bit poor really) but never mind my steak came back freshly warmed up " popped it back under the grill for you" yea right. A few minutes later I called over the waiter and asked " dose butter melt" of course was his answer " so why has my butter not melted on top of the filet steak I am paying nearly £40 for.She he pops off to get the manager who was as usefull as aused tea bag. " I saw it go under the grill myself" well it's still not very warm as the butter still had not melted.I will near be going to this Miller and Carter again. £20 off a £130 bill for 2.Yes I could of kicked up a fuss but it was my wife's birthday so I did not want her to feel uncomfortable with the whole venue.I feel cheated let down. All in all a very bad experience.

Yesterday I had a reservation for 5 people, including two children, the food was delicious, the place was clean, everything was ok. the payment bill was £204, I paid by card, I want to mention that we were served by Dave (I hope I remembered correctly), when the waiter typed to pay by card he put the amount of £220 without he tells us that this is the Tips, unfortunately I was not aware of this amount, which disappointed me.

We visited after a matinee performance at the nearby theatre and were slightly surprised to be asked if we'd made a reservation as we looked at a near empty restaurant at 515pm!However, we were seated quickly and from then on service and food were excellent.My pictures show the decor, a lovely glass of Malbec and my salad wedge. I didn't photograph my steak when it arrived - just tucked in and enjoyed it, perfectly medium rare and delicious with a red wine sauce.We'll be back.

We regularly eat at Miller and Carter but the service we received here was disappointing. The food was very late considering it was a quiet afternoon with less than 10tables. After waiting for ages, my husband’s steak was more rare than it was medium. The peppercorn sauce was so watery he couldn’t eat it. The brownie was rock hard that we could not dig into it with a spoon. Disappointed

Ordered on the website yesterday to collect at 19:00. A relatively young lady assisted me. I mentioned to her that I was collecting ( and show her the email confirmation) and she assumed straight ahead that its a delivery. A bit confused I repeat myself and mentioned that I'm collecting. After 5 minutes she comes with my order and asks me if I got everything, and I'm baffled as its her responsibility to make sure that my order is complete, so I show her the email confirmation again, after which her facial expression shows that she understands that I'm a customer and I ask her "do you think I'm a Uber driver?". After which she doesn't apologise and just waves her hand like... forget about it. Food was good, but not a pleasant first experience.

We have just been in for dinner, we were served by Richard an absolute pleasure it was. So friendly and so attentive to all our needs would highly recommend Richard to be our server every time we visit from now on. Our food was amazing so much so we ring the bell and complimented the chef personally. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very good did get a little hot as the night went on but that is probably because we were sat near the kitchen. Over all one of the best experiences we have had at miller and carter. Again a big thanku to Richard u made our night.
