Wavendon arms has undeniably a beautiful and well thought out restaurant; genuinely impressed however, we ate lunch here at mid day. We waited 45 minutes before any food came to our table, and was expected to just wait.I wouldn’t normally complain about these things however, when you go to an establishment that charges on the higher end in addition to the 10% service charge, expectations need to be met.This brings me onto the pricing and quality of starters. Whilst the mains tasted great, charging £7 for a bread board, that to be frank was sub par with only 5 flat pieces of your normal brown and white bread, was also a little disappointing.Overall, a great place for atmosphere but let down by service and quality of starters.

My chicken was so overcooked it had to be dragged off the bone. As we had waited an hour I just plodded on. It was so dark at our table that we all had to use our phone torches to read the menu.
Waiting time for food was dire (an hour). Had to go to reception to chase orders. One of the guests is a food critic. I felt everyone else was served before us, a party of six had their main course and came in well after we did. We were a group of mature ladies which once again I feel makes a difference in level of service still in this day and age. No update on food orders either.Table was in the dark so we had to use our phone torches to read the menus. No light offered.Chicken was dry on arrival told waitress who apologised. No alternative offered. Couldn't see what we were eating either.Needless to say food critic was not impressed as service did not reflect the prices charged and said it was very disappointing and spoilt our experience.Will not be returning.Parking: Parking was good.
