Delightful Gastropub set up on a plateau with marvellous views. In season menus that are mouthwatering- just check before you go though you might not have your favourite on the menu. Excellent service from a well heeled manager and friendly bar staff. One of our favourite venues in a quaint town. A must !!!Walkability: Country walks fresh air and beautiful.

This venue was for our Christmas meal. I would not be able to give information on rooms as I did not use this service/to be honest was not aware. Now, back to the review, 3 course meals for Christmas were £35. That consisted of starter, main, and dessert. They cover across board, vegan, vegetarian, allergens, and meat eaters. The setting is in a place called Brill sitting between Bicester and Aylesbury. Idyllic with a miniature windmill and roving Hill canyons nearby. It's picturesque. Parking is not too much but about 20 parking spaces in the alcove near the windmill off street and a few spaces on the streets nearby. This is a little quaint town, so be careful as homes are within this hub of streets/lanes.Good portion sizes, and on time service once your order gets going. Spent roughly 3 hours there. Great marrying of flavours and textures can be found by googling the pheasant Brill. Setting was with the Christmas theme with Christmas music in the background table was laid out nicely with Christmas Cracker included. Bar with drinks Toilet nice but cold, like get in there go, do and back out again to the warmth of the restaurant. Nice ambience. Seating comfortably about 40-50. Maybe more if tables are layed a certain wayWalkability: A little out of nowhere but if you're rambler it's a great find on a roving walkFood & drinks: Good portion sizes, Bar with drinks on site

I didn’t feel particularly welcome upon arrival. Seriously unfriendly lady behind the bar, and the same can be said for the middle aged man. I found both of their mannerisms totally alienating. Other guests however seemed to receive a much warmer welcome. I’d love to know why. I’ve thought this on previous visits but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and go in for some lunch.Food was not worth the very expensive prices - chicken was extremely chewy. Told waiter this, to which I received a half hearted apology. Then, I asked the previously mentioned middle aged man for the bill, and he totally blanked me after making eye contact with me. I don’t ask for a lot when I go out to eat but what I do expect for a premium price is a premium service. I did not receive this. Also, at these prices and with that service, the extra 10% service charge is nothing short of taking the wee wee.Food was pantalones and the staff wouldn’t laugh if the chairs walked. No thank you.

Amazing, super friendly place. Tasty meals served by nice and kind team. Dog friendly as well! Thank you for today, we will be back soon! ?Food & drinks: We had chicken breast with beacon, roasted potatoes, veggies, etc, pumpkin ravioli with sage butter and parmesan and Eaton Mess. That was delicious. Lokally brewed beer is fantastic ?

My partner and I had a meal here on a Saturday evening. Lovely atmosphere and the staff were so welcoming and friendly. Lovely views from the outside. We both had the tricolore to start off from the specials board, and the pesto was delicious. I then had the spaghetti con fungi which was a perfectly sized portion and tasted amazing. My partner had the steak frites with peppercorn sauce from the specials menu. He absolutely loved it - I have never seen him eat a meal so slowly to savour it.We didn’t have to wait long for our food at all, if anything we could’ve had a few more minutes between courses but other than that our experience was perfect. Will be coming back!
