We walked in and the pub was a bit run down. We deliberated whether to stay to eat or go somewhere else and I am so glad we stayed We were there for Sunday lunch. The choice was beef or pork for the roast dinner or you could have any of the pies or sausages with the roast option (huge Yorkshire pudding, roast pots and veg). I chose the beef. My friend chose the steak and Stilton pie. WOW! The beef was gorgeous loads of it, beautifully lean, loads of gravy and 10 different veg - all fresh and all beautifully cooked. My friend’s pie was chock full of beautifully lean and tender beef The pudding menu had everybody’s favourites: Sticky Toffee, Spotted Dick, Bread and Butter pudding, etc. We close the chocolate brownie and the stem ginger steamed pudding. All puds are served with custard, cream or ice cream This was seriously the best Sunday roast dinner I’ve had for years There was a lovely friendly atmosphere. This is a truly British pub and so few still remain. A gorgeous find that I’ll recommend to all my friends This place should be packed every weekend and I can’t recommend it highly enough

Visited after a long break and we were delighted to find a warm welcome and very good homemade food at a great price. Big choice of traditional dishes and they are dog friendly in the bar. In good weather it’s a lovely walk here from Olney. If you need to drive don’t be put off by the route around the river valley, it really isn’t far.

Such a lovely Sunday lunch for our family . My brother and his wife visiting from Germany and our parents all gave the big thumbs up. Food so good a great selection of vegetables and so nicely presented. Nothing too much trouble for any of the very attentive staff. Relaxed afternoon jusywhat we needed . Thank you all of the staff for fitting us in and then exceeding everyone expectations . We will be back.

Only ate snacks after an afternoon walk from Olney, but what we had was good. Barman very friendly and helpful. A lovely afternoon to spend with friends in their beer garden.Kid-friendliness: Lots of running around space for kids and a playground. Was quite a few kiddies enjoying themselves.Wheelchair accessibility: Garden access is wheelchair friendly. Pub is now. There is also an undercover area to sit under.

First visit in many years so not too sure what we would find. Internally it's still the Robin Hood of old but outside it now has a huge gazebo and further on is the large garden. Pretty quiet so we chose to sit inside. Having seen reports that they only did sausages & pies, we didn't anticipate much choice but receiving a very friendly welcome, looking at the menu was another surprise. OK, not a cordon bleu offering but plenty of choice, and all at a more than reasonable price. I settled for the steak & Stilton Pie (buttery mash & petite pois) with my wife choosing the beef lasagne (with salad & garlic bread). One London Pride & half Diet Pepsi cost just over £32. - a real bargain for 2023 IMHO. The food, which arrive 15 minutes or so later was superb. Very tasty and although the plates weren't huge, they were more than adequate relying on quality rather than quantity. Proven when we declined a desert! Our first visit since Covid but we will certainly be back!

We booked for 2.30 for 6 people and we waited nearly two hours for our food and eventually the food arrived the vegetables were stone cold I think they were probably frozen and not cooked enough ,they were obviously very busy, very

Popped in on the fly with our two kids after a weekend of travelling. Food as absolutely faultless, brilliant garden area and play area my kids love running and playing. The fish pond and horses really add to the beauty of this charming place.Lastly we were served by Fred and can't say anything bad, he was friendly chatty and just all round helpful and nice.Would quite easy travel the distance again and probably will in the near future.
