Stopped here whilst walking the ridgeway. Famous for a Prime Minister leaving his daughter here (apparently) and visiting with the Chinese Premier. Average food and drinks, reasonable service. Handy for the ridgeway though, clean toilets.

Great location for doing a loop around Whiteleaf hill . Lots of outdoor seating . Good selection of ales on tap. Pleasant staff. Big car park.

We booked a table for our 32nd wedding anniversary meal and weren’t disappointed. The staff were attentive, engaged, professional and fun and the food was of a good standard too with plenty of choice. Lots of outside seating and a car park and as the pub is a turn off the road there are no cars zooming past! A real hidden away gem with a great history- please visit.

I think this is the place where David Cameron came for fish and chips with the Chinese Prime Minister. I might be wrong. Anyway, it was a biker stop off - nice to sit outside and enjoy the country. Worth a visit, it's a bit tucked away. You can walk up the hill to get to the white cross. A good hike and you can see for miles!

Great location spoiled by the staff who were the most impolite and uninterested I have come across in a very long time. There are plenty of much nicer pubs in the area that I’d suggest you use rather than this one. Prior to current owners this pub had a great reputation which it is now entirely devoid of.

Went to The Plough today for Sunday Lunch with some friends. Friendly attentive service, possibly the best roast I've ever had in a pub and great Rebellion beer. Good desserts to follow. We were all happy. First Class.

Ordinary pleasant pub catering for locals and passing hikers, who are requested to remove any muddy boots before entering the bar. We didn't sample the food, but the locals were having pub grub as well as liquid lunches. Good selection of lagers and ales. Tables inside and out, with most outside being sheltered under canopies.

Used to be a great pub, now rather less so. Kitchen closed at 7.30, beer not that special, no atmosphere

Great location next to the woods and hiking trails. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and with own carpark for customers.Nearby activities: Walking in the woods to Whiteleaf Cross

Lovely attentive staff, warm and cosy feel inside the pub. I met a friend for lunch and the food was of good quality. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone.
