Excellent food and good portions, but the service was slower than I'd have liked, which meant we ran out of time for desserts (which looked great)! There was some commotion in the restaurant from one table which they dealt with well.

This is a lovely family run restaurant. Excellent pizzas. Also enjoyed a really delicious Sicilian white wine with our meal. Their gelatos are pretty amazing too.

I recently dined at this charming Italian eatery, and it was a fine experience from start to finish. Despite being slightly overpriced (though where isn't and it is Cambridge), the warm ambiance and outstanding service more than made up for it. The staff were incredibly cheerful and attentive, making us feel right at home. Now, let's talk about the food! The calzone was an absolute winner - perfectly baked with generous fillings. And let's not forget about the ice cream! It was simply divine, the perfect sweet ending to our meal. Get the Ferrero Rocher!Overall, if you're looking for a no-frills Italian spot with great service this place hits the spot. Would recommended!Vegetarian options: Like all Italians, plenty vegetarian choice on offer!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free pasta available

La Margherita Is a lovely restaurant. Family run and part of Cambridge for several decades. The pizzas are fabulous. The service is very pleasant and efficient. And the Umbrian Artisan beer is great. A delightful treat and reasonably priced.

Remarkably good food. Only downside was queue for the solitary ladies loo.

Best Italian in Cambridge. Fair prices, always top knotch food, friendly service. Couldn’t be more helpful. Also best ice cream in the window if you’re strolling past. Will keep going back for sure.

Fresh, good quality traditional Italian food at excellent prices. Staff are friendly, helpful and attentive - they served our large group very efficiently. There is a good range of dishes from pizza and risottos to sea bass and Salsiccia. Vegetarians in our party were very happy with their options, especially the Involtini. Puddings were generous and looked terrific. Highly recommended.

Have eaten here numerous times, thought it deserved a review. Great local family-run Italian restaurant just opposite Magdalene College. Friendly staff and consistently good food at reasonable prices, with a decent range of pizzas, pasta and meat/fish dishes. My favourite dishes - Pizza Arrabbiata, Maiale (pork fillet) with Marsala, and Pollo Milanese with spaghetti Napoli. The sea bass is also good, though it’s a big portion! Excellent range of ice cream and a few other desserts - the Tiramisu and Limoncello Crème Brûlée are both yummy, the chocolate cake is delicious but huge. It’s often very busy, booking may be advisable, especially in the evenings. I don’t give many 5 star reviews, but this place is all I want in a local Italian restaurant.

Haven’t been here for a while but our visit reminded me of what a lovely place this restaurant is, a true Cambridge institution. Beautiful, freshly prepared food, friendly staff and great atmosphere, even at lunchtime. Will be back soon.

Had dinner here last Friday. The food was excellent, with prompt service and a very classy, pleasant atmosphere. They were also very accommodating when we asked to make a slight adjustment to a dish for dietary reasons. Would definitely return if back Cambridge - quality Italian food; especially recommended the huge pizzas.

We love this non-chain Italian where the food is never a disappointment. Great pizzas and pasta and lovely staff. Having been as a couple and with a small family group we didn't hesitate to book the characterful beamed upstairs room for 18 friends when celebrating a special birthday. They did not let us down. Everyone praised the food and the service. Long may they continue to provide a great venue for good food in a lovely part of the city.
