Went with my wife. Service was excellent. My caesar salad was lovely. My wife's tacos were awful. Told server who refunded us for that dish. I think it is overpriced for what it is.

Lovely food, not a lot of atmosphere but it was early. Lovely clean place and good professional

Very Limited lunch

Lovely place. Staff are always friendly and attentive. Service is great, food is very nice, drinks are reasonably priced. It's a very nice place to go and sit with a drink and watch the golfers.

Food was lovely and had some good options. They have a nice deck area overlooking the lake. Indoor atmosphere is pleasant. I stayed in the hotel so had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. Breakfast was full English style. They have gluten free dinner options too.Dietary restrictions: Some gluten free options. I spoke to the waiter and they were very helpful and informative.

Located mid-day between ourselves and family, it serves as a good meet up point for lunch as it's just off the A1. Set in the hotel and spa and overlooking the lake, the inside is large and smart in style. Staff are friendly, and the food is good. We did not have any long waits, the menu is small, but plenty for what we were fancying that day. It definitely caters for business meals, as there were plenty of working lunches occurring. There is free parking on site. We had newborn children with us, and we did not feel overlooked, neither did we appear to disturb any other guests (babies cry every so often). The staff were very accommodating and I would say this place is breast feeding friendly as we had no issues.

Limited menu with mediocre pub grub being served at high end prices. A brasserie, it is not! Slow service by the end of our meal, meaning we had to ask for our bill. Nobody checked in on us during our meal to see how we found it. Cheeky 12.5% service charge added on too. Really disappointing experience in comparison to the rest of the hotel and spa.

Looks like a Premier Inn from the outside, walk past the Spa with a view of all the people in their dressing gowns, and nothing but burgers and ciabatta on the menu.Overpriced drinks and snotty, rude staff make this a complete miss.

Had a Christmas group meet up for coffee. Lovely surroundings with comfortable chairs/sofas.

I booked for a family gathering of 6. Menu consisted of a choice of 4 burgers. Complained and I was told I should have checked menu before I booked. I did and it was a full menu. I did wonder why it was virtually empty. We left to go elsewhere.

Take the burger and G&T, at least you won't have to eat poorly cooked pasta for £18 and drink frozen and flat beer...

Good food, reasonable atmosphere and quick access to multiple services, the Gravel Pit is a decent option for those staying at the Waterfront Hotel, or those close by. Prices are in line with other hotel restaurants so expect to pay a little more than your high street options.
